  1. Not to hijack this thread but I never hear any reviews about the 3090 that you can get with Dell Alienwares. I wonder if the price increase is really worth it if you already have a 3060-3080?
  2. Thanks Gene, makes better sense now and I believe I got it.
  3. Here is the how I wanted them to sit on top of the top plate. Like I said, I normally can figure out where I went wrong but I messed with so many settings this time I am stumped. I had I-joists and the roof auto build worked perfect but I talked the builder and they preferred trusses for A/c duct. I wish trusses could be set up in the roof structure like the I-joists instead of manually pulling them from end to end. Maybe I'm wrong though. I have the sub fascia and fascia sizes like I want them.
  4. Well, I have really messed this up now trying several different options including balloon framing. How can I get the double top plates to sit under the 16" trusses? Google drive link attached.... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JWRsa2UrFhfA55Emln-nbDe3SrgqLlL4/view?usp=sharing
  5. No, most builders have their own cabinet guys who take my drawings and do their thing. I still provide them though and just provide as much info as I can.
  6. Thanks guys, I am experimenting with the auto elevations. I like the NKBA CL dimensions it gives to appliances and such is why I use them.
  7. One thing I have never figured out is how to get the NKBA dims to measure to the center of openings or the rough openings and not the casing. I have checked and unchecked so many boxes in the settings and still nothing? Advice?
  8. Not sure if my Alienware R12 with the 3080 would be slow on X14 but I am not willing to switch over from X13 right now to find out.
  9. yes, just a 2d receptacle, just for the electrical plan. Going in a wood shop with a lot of power tools. Sounds like making your own symbol is the way to go......
  10. In CA, if we need at 30 amp plug (120V), do we have a symbol for that? I only see 220V or 110V. Thanks!
  11. Because all hell broke loose when I upgraded from X12-X13 from my library and other files. I finally got X13 set up just like I want. I will upgrade in the future though and read more on migrating settings.
  12. Negative, not for what I charge to do plans. They get what they want.
  13. Thanks guys for the feedback. I knew it was a matter of time before this window type was requested from a client.
  14. do we have this option in X13? "show shutters closed"?
  15. How do you guys achieve this on window settings? Thanks
  16. I did make some roof and wall changes today. I wonder if it was occurring because of bad connections somewhere.

  18. This happens when a client makes constant changes for two months on the home. How do we upload large files again?

    Glitch?

I have homes from time to time that want to build wall framing for a non existing wall. Is this a glitch? I checked for invisible walls and there is none. I rebuild the wall framing and it goes away, a little later it comes back and I repeat the process.
  20. I see. Definitely answers my question. Maybe that's why I have never seen them on other designer's plans in my region who do residential.
  21. I am interested in learning more on CA construction lines. The tutorial I watched didn't go into too much detail other than making the grid in plan view and them automatically showing up in elevations. Any vids you can suggest on what they are actually used for and what info they can provide to the plan set?
  22. Yeah i have been manually dragging dim lines here and there but want to use CA's speed of things to the fullest. It gets confusing in the settings when you do wall elevations, as an example, and it wanting to dimension things like the molding on top of cabinets which I hate so I very rarely mess with dim settings.
