  1. See attached Perry. Look at the exterior wall. test exterior wall2.plan
  2. Interesting solutions. That looks great jim.
  3. My simple awning if anyone is interested. Awning Sun Shade.zip
  4. I think I know why, the floor 4" thick does not extend under this wall as it is outside the envelope. But what is the recommended method of extending the footing wall to the partition wall. I say partition because it divide the two units and the entries.
  5. Lew, looks like you are talking to yourself again. If you keep that up the guy's in white coats will be showing up. It will be awhile before I can comment on that stuff, I still fumbling around for the most part.
  6. Eric, Did you do it floor by floor? Because I can't get the entire plan to copy. Procedure: Draw a rectangle around plan. Select rectangle Edit> Edit Area> Edit Area(All Floors) Edit> Copy Mirror Looks like the copy failed. I did get it to work by : Draw a rectangle around plan. Select rectangle Edit> Edit Area> Edit Area(All Floors) Edit> Copy->Paste Paste near by Mirror that copy Move back into position.
  7. Thanks, I'll give it a try. I was thinking all I need to copy are the exterior & partition walls. Not the interior elements. But to get a layout with multiple units in plan view I could use send to layout the one filled in unit and do copies of that.
  8. OK I tried this: Select Edit>Edit Area>Edit Area (All Floors) Marquee around the right side of the partition wall Copy from the edit tool bar. Reflect about object. Choose the partition wall as center. Then the plans is reflected but only the elevator block is left on the right side as if only that object was copied. The left side has all objects including the elevator block.
  9. Not sure I follow. My first thought is to copy the exterior walls & copy & paste next to the last one for five units.
  10. OK I see you did it. Thanks, But in the Edit menu I see Select ALL but not select area in all floors. Can you be more specific?
  11. I have another project that will have 5 units sharing a common wall. How do you handle this situation? I am working on the elevation & need to proceed to the view of the full project. thanks
  12. I have a condo that need to be mirrored. I want the original to remain as is so there are two units. What is the best way. I ACAD I would create a base drawing & xref in the one side & xref a mirrored copy on the other. That way I could still modify the base unit floor plan & not have to deal with modifying two units every time there is a floor plan change. MacDill TH-Unit A.zip
  13. I was able to make a symbol VIA a camera view but orbit would not move the way I needed. I'll try some videos tomorrow.
  14. For some reason the Symbol menu is dimmed. I'll try again tomorrow.
  15. Yes, thanks. Did not see one for me. I did try to create one in CA, see attached. I did it from end view but can not find a wan to rotate it about the Z axis? Awning My Attempt.plan
  16. Sorry Perry, forgot to click that last button. On my browser I must click "Attach this File " or it doesn't load. I added it to the first post.
  17. I could find none like that. Similar to Bahama Shutters. Made of open slats.
  18. Can not find this item. Is it easier to just build it out of primitives or SketchUp maybe?
  19. OK I deleted that wall & added a new one & it looks good. I assume because the two floors are at -4 that it installed properly.
  20. Joey, I found the macro useful as a newbie because I am still sorting out may templates. And from the look of it it may be a month or so before I can figure out what all needs to be changed in the templates. Far more powerful would be Ruby with full access to the environment & objects. At that point your imagination would be the only limitation.
  21. I changed the garage floor to -4 as we are required for safety to have a lower garage floor (gas fumes I think) I lowered the stair floor -4, & changed the stair to Auto adjust height so both flights to the landing have the same tread rise & it adjusted to the new floor height. Then in camera view from garage I selected the wall & pulled it down to the floor. Not sure why it did not adjust by itself.
  22. Thanks for the example Lew, I can make one to change all my existing plans text sets to "Ariel Narrow"
  23. Thanks for looking. I will try to find out why from tech support.
  24. I did an Edit Area and moved the first floor only. This created an overhang on front & back of the building. The section & elevation views now show a missing floor perimeter in some areas. What did I do wrong & how to fix it? Thanks in advance. 1st AveSouth.zip
