See if i can upload a video. CopyBasePoint.zip

Oops the image did not stick

OK, sorry I wasn't clear. I want to change ALL the text style Defaults at once to No Fill.
-
I want to copy & paste based on a base point. I inserted a Mark with text and now want to copy & past based on the CAD line adjacent to the original mark but to the other CAD lines. This is sooo easy in CAD, what is the trick? No I don't want to replicate 9' then 16" then 10' then 16" the 9'-6" Got to be an easy way to do this basic task.

I find that in this drawing I want to change ALL of the text style Fill to "No Fill" Is there a macro for that?

Maybe this thread: http://www.chieftalk.com/showthread.php?59607-deck-railing-with-balusters-over-rim

Thanks - that did it. Not a fan of point to point dim's yet. They have a way of snapping to unwanted points & are not associative. Not sure why I had more than one main layer. A beginner mistake I'm sure. Now I have to go back through all my condo plans & fix that wall definition.

See attached plan. Auto dimensions does not get center of the main devising wall. What am I doing wrong? MacDill TH-UnitB.zip

What Would Be 1 Thing You Would Love To See Ca Fix Or Add?
ACADuser replied to ragetoca's topic in General Q & A
I would like the option to pick & pick ILO pick + drag for most commands. Try to zoom in to pick precise point for a dimension then to get to the other side of the house before releasing the mouse button. I can't pan, I have to use the arrow key to pan to the other side of the house to pick the precise point. I hate this! Maybe there is a better way & I haven't discovered. Clearly I prefer to pick & pick not pick drag. -
The SSD looks too small. Are all the plans moved to a server or other backup? I ask because all my stuff stays on my machine.
-
You mean drag the wall vertically? When selected it doesn't always have a grip to pull it down. What view do you use to get that grip?

See attached Perry. Look at the exterior wall. test exterior wall2.plan

Interesting solutions. That looks great jim.

My simple awning if anyone is interested. Awning Sun Shade.zip

I think I know why, the floor 4" thick does not extend under this wall as it is outside the envelope. But what is the recommended method of extending the footing wall to the partition wall. I say partition because it divide the two units and the entries.

Lew, looks like you are talking to yourself again. If you keep that up the guy's in white coats will be showing up. It will be awhile before I can comment on that stuff, I still fumbling around for the most part.
-
Eric, Did you do it floor by floor? Because I can't get the entire plan to copy. Procedure: Draw a rectangle around plan. Select rectangle Edit> Edit Area> Edit Area(All Floors) Edit> Copy Mirror Looks like the copy failed. I did get it to work by : Draw a rectangle around plan. Select rectangle Edit> Edit Area> Edit Area(All Floors) Edit> Copy->Paste Paste near by Mirror that copy Move back into position.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I was thinking all I need to copy are the exterior & partition walls. Not the interior elements. But to get a layout with multiple units in plan view I could use send to layout the one filled in unit and do copies of that.
-
OK I tried this: Select Edit>Edit Area>Edit Area (All Floors) Marquee around the right side of the partition wall Copy from the edit tool bar. Reflect about object. Choose the partition wall as center. Then the plans is reflected but only the elevator block is left on the right side as if only that object was copied. The left side has all objects including the elevator block.
-
Not sure I follow. My first thought is to copy the exterior walls & copy & paste next to the last one for five units.
-
OK I see you did it. Thanks, But in the Edit menu I see Select ALL but not select area in all floors. Can you be more specific?
-
I have another project that will have 5 units sharing a common wall. How do you handle this situation? I am working on the elevation & need to proceed to the view of the full project. thanks
-
I have a condo that need to be mirrored. I want the original to remain as is so there are two units. What is the best way. I ACAD I would create a base drawing & xref in the one side & xref a mirrored copy on the other. That way I could still modify the base unit floor plan & not have to deal with modifying two units every time there is a floor plan change. MacDill TH-Unit A.zip

I was able to make a symbol VIA a camera view but orbit would not move the way I needed. I'll try some videos tomorrow.

For some reason the Symbol menu is dimmed. I'll try again tomorrow.
