Sorry for the late reply. One key does not turn off or pause the snaps off for me. Thanks

Thanks David. I though I was clear. Seems you under stood. So I guess the proper way to delete the balcony & porch was to turn off the auto walls & when done turn back on. I'll have to add this to my "You need to remember this in 6 months when you do this again" file.

Curt, Just rebuilt porch & balcony, went to 2nd floor & tried you method. It left two side walls on 1st floor that I had to delete. Better that before. I get the impression that you have to delete from 2nd floor down. & auto walls will be limited & then just delete them. Not much spare time today to fool with it. Just a quirky think in CA I guess.

Invisible wall type segments on the first floor. projecting out from the exterior wall as if the porch was still there. Only these side walls, not the end wall to complete the room. Apparently created by CA from the balcony room above when I deleted the porch room on the first floor. I kept deleting them until they did not return. I may be able to recreate this condition, if so I'll upload the plan.

Wanting to delete a porch and balcony I started with the first floor & deleted the invisible walls I used to define it, So the automatic walls were created. Deleted them too. Went upstairs & deleted the balcony walls as well but still have wall artifacts on the first floor. What is the proper procedure for deleting these rooms?

In my case the living area per floor will include the perimeter walls so the pline method suite me fine. This allows me to do the garage too which includes the exterior walls but not the partition wall. This is the way the GC whats it shown. Too bad it can not be used in a custom table that auto updates. Working well so far. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Gerry, that can be found in a Ruby reference?
-
OK It did work when I used it within a text. Just did not evaluate when I was creating it. Changed it to "area" not "area/12" Now I need to round it to one decimal place?
-
Yes I did this when creating the macro
-
Only simple if you speak Ruby. With pline selected I created a Macro in a Macro Management window "AreaPline" and added "area/12" but get error . Where did I go wrong?

So So Frustrated - Deck Just Up And Dissappears
ACADuser replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
I assume you fixed the roof problem but in your video you did not adjust the entry roof plan on the left. Some times the roof plane touches the exterior wall and causes this loss of wall. The roof planes sometimes work but later the wall above disappears. May be a rounding math problem that they work & then they don't. I usually pull the planes away from the wall they butt up to by 1/2" and all is fine. -
OK I have some furniture I want in a schedule and then some items like prep tables, Drying Racks, wire shelving that I want in an Equipment Schedule. Seems simple enough, Not. It appears that you can omit from shedule but forget changing the category of the item. Is that correct? There is no provision for a custom schedule !!

That's pretty spectacular. Thanks for all the good advice.

Thanks Dennis. 24" floor system above so lots of room for recess. I'll place can lights in all the perimeter cells & maybe leave the center empty. Haven't used 3d lighting yet. Too much to absorb in 4 or 5 month with CA.

See attached living room. There are 3 across x 4 rows of ceiling recesses. What light fixture would you use & would you place one in each recess? Then to render would you turn them off?

Thanks Glenn. What are you using for a microphone? I'll see what I may have that will work.
-
Glen, Thanks for the offer. I was putting out fires today on another project. I have some time tomorrow but I live in Florida. Are you 13 hours ahead of me? I don't have skype so I would need to set that up. Oh I see you need a microphone too. Maybe I can use my wife's phone. I still have a flip phone. She used to use skype to talk with her daughter. I'll check it out and get back to you. Thanks

Plan in Zip file is 0 bites. You should be able to set the distance between Newel Post in the dialog.

OK working more with the elevations I see lines & spline result in a more predictable way. Although I am having a fit with the pool deck area. I added an Elevation region where the pool deck is placed in an effort to create a flat area to work on. Then added a Terrain Feature the create the deck. This did not work as expected. I also added some terrain retaining walls where the terrain is higher than the deck. Again not what I wanted. My desire is a pool deck with a 51.0' top at the lanai junction & slopes south by 4" to 50.67' On the East side a retaining wall that has a fixed height of 30" above the pool deck. Terrain is 52' outside the wall to cover the septic Mound but tapers. Not sure what tools I need to use the control the terrain at the wall & the wall need to be a regular terrain wall. The deck / Terrain feature is not flat as intended. I appreciate all input Bash6.zip

OH Sh** I entered all the elevation points as inches instead of feet. How do I fix that?
-
ok changed the pool deck & that fixed the bleed through of the terrain but the contour lines are still showing in the lanai & pool deck in plan view. off to dinner.
-
I have a sloped lot where I added topo points and the house took care of itself. But the Lanai & Pool deck area has elevations lines & terrain running through it. The lanai is a room but the pool deck is p-solid. Do i need to add a flat terrain feature ? The tight side has a short terrain wall where the terrain should butt up to it & drop at the pool deck. The left side terrain should slope gently away from the pool deck. I'll post the plan later if needed but half to leave for a few hours.

Soo easy when you know what to do. Thanks
