My pleasure. By the way it would be a good idea to update your signature so that other members can see more about who you are, and what your hardware is like. Sometimes that can make a difference. To update your signature in Chief Architect, you need to access your account settings and update the signature field. You can do this by clicking on your username at the top right, navigating to Account Settings, and then finding the Signature option. Once there, you can modify or replace your existing signature. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Locate Account Settings: Click on your username or profile icon, typically found in the top right corner of the Chief Architect interface. Access Signature Settings: Within the account settings, find the section related to your signature or profile information. This might be labeled as "Signature" or "Profile". Update Signature: You can then edit or replace the current signature with your updated one.

Here is the solution to your problem!

From the attached PDF the slope on the open area is less than the slope of the main building.

This is the Chief Architect forum, and most of us do not have Home Designer Pro. That being said in CA you can adjust the terrain by opening the terrain specification dialog and then turning off automatic height and then entering a number that is the difference between the subfloor and the terrain.

You do want the roof planes to intersect right?

Clean looking documents in Chief Architect / Layout
Doug_N replied to reedie2000's topic in General Q & A
Just out of interest, I thought that trying out a couple of popular fonts would be instructional. So I did a sample in Arial, Helvetica, Chief Blueprint and Country Blueprint. Here is what they all looked like, same size and same conditions. -
Hi Ed, Just another couple of notes. You might want to align your piers with the posts supporting the roof. You can do that a couple of ways, by offsetting the posts from the railing inwards, or by just adjusting the piers and posts under the deck.

That is the case with the first picture Joe.

This is the result of extending the landing 1/2 tread each way, and setting no transitions And this is transitions set but no smoothing. I really can't see a difference. And finally with smoothing. It would be a good feature to be able to do a smooth sweeping transition without a jump in the handrail.

The answer, as indicated from Chris is yes. Before that can be done, you need to consult with someone qualified in your area to visit the building, look at the current construction, and assess what it might take, and if it would be practical. No question about if it can technically be done, but will it be worth it? Maybe is the only answer that anyone could offer from the photos. I don't agree with asking a local contractor. Ask a qualified designer, architect or structural engineer.

Am I free to give a copy of the CA viewer to my clients?

Looks good to me, what is the problem?

Bingo, DB you are the man!!

I have rope lights under the kitchen cabinets, and this light bloom above the cabinets is a problem. (X-17) After making all kinds of adjustments that seem to correct the problem, the next time I open the view, the bloom is back. Here is a link to the file, the file was too large to upload. Neil, We were wrong!! You are 14 hours ahead!!! That makes 10 EST Midnight in Queensland. You were patiently waiting for me to send a zoom, and nothing. Those Canadians are not to be trusted you must have thought. Sorry, I should have checked with Dr,.Google. We can try again tomorrow, I will be on at 8am which should be 10 pm your time. My bad.

That may have been a follow-up sequel to Faulty Towers

Hi Niel, Thanks for the latest version. I was afraid it may have grown to the size that you couldn't upload anymore. So are we on for Tuesday at 10 EST?
-
Neil Please send me an email (in my signature) so that I can send the zoom link. Also your most recent plan. A link to OneDrive or Dropbox is fine. Doug

dimension not showing for dimension which needs leader line
Doug_N replied to SHCanada2's topic in General Q & A
Try pulling the dimension set outside of the others, Maybe none of them have dimension extensions. I see the actual dimension has been moved. I suspect that dimension set does not have the same default set as others. -
So the question is what time should we Zoom to see if I can help? How about 10am EST? That would be 10pm your time, right?
-
I have a paid account so no problems there. What is our time difference? I am EST.

Sorry Neil, I did the roof extension because of an assumption that I made from this view of the house posted earlier on. Maybe we can do a zoom meeting and I can see what you are doing and help you a bit, perhaps early next week? I opened the model that you posted in the last post, and all the roofs were joined. I also had no problem with floating roof dormers, once I set the wall height of the dormer in the dormer DBX to ensure no interference with the ridges. The wall poke up through the roof on the side of the first floor because in the wall DBX under structural, the default wall height is turned off. Turn that on, and the wall no longer pokes through the roof. Oh, and the missing trim, is because in the default preferences for roof, you have the sub facia and the facia boards turned off.
