If this is what you are looking for then you can do this in a back clipped elevation, but in the wall definition set the siding on a different layer Then use a framing layer set in the view resulting in this The foundation walls had to be turned on as well.

Skylight not showing up in window schedule.
Doug_N replied to capitaldesigns's topic in General Q & A
Normally, the skylights are not included in the window schedule This is a DBX from preferences where the skylight box has been selected for inclusion in the window schedule Here a skylight has been inserted into a roof, and showes up in the window schedule.- 1 reply

Sometimes strange things happen, and I don't have a good answer for that.

Made one of the walls of a no room definition type.

Yes, I was curious, but when I clicked on the link, Google reported that the video was no longer available. I would like to see it as well.

Is this close to what you are looking for? Or this? I don't understand where the problem lies with what you are trying to do. Nor do I understand what the problem is with the exterior view of the floor supported by a column in one corner. Could you talk about each area of problem?

If you are using project management, and open a file but respond to the opening dialog by selection do not import to a new project, then the "save as" is there, same as x-16. To save a file as something else you can export a plan file from the project browser (or all the files in a file of the browser) to a location outside of the management system. There is a second method for saving as that is sort of counter intuitive that I will show later. The above is for an entire project. For an individual file you just save that file with an opportunity to rename it. The warning tells you that the saved file has no connection to the project, which is probably what you might want anyway. It saves the plan in a zip folder Saving a file with an alternate name in the project management system. Start by copying the file that you want to have a different name. LMC and make a copy. The new plan file may be renamed.

I need my garage to be lower than the rest of the house
Doug_N replied to Ldesignstudio's topic in General Q & A
This is an example of an as-built garage with the floor of the garage 1" above the grade and 13" below the floor of the house. v -
I had to make several changes to data to get the terrain to generate some non-cliff like changes. So this is just to demonstrate the method to get to a result. You have to use real data from the entire site to make you project work properly. Hope this helps. 751877093_Terrainproblem.plan

Thanks for the suggestion, I may have to do just that. The problem with that is the size of the exported file is enormous. All textures, library objects and lots of other stuff related to the project is also exported. There just has to be a better way.

I have noticed that the files stored in the managed projects are starting to eat up drive space. Is there a way to archive completed projects to get them out of the managed space?

Rob, Please post the plan.

The other possibility is the material for the drawers is set to transparent. It is difficult to make a guess without your plan being posted, as DB said,

HELP! When I send plan wall schedules to layout I see duplicate info
Doug_N replied to wnhagan's topic in General Q & A
I am sorry but what do you mean by duplicate information? -
Build access to deck/balcony using dormer or other means
Doug_N replied to Evolution's topic in General Q & A
The software would expect another floor to add a balcony. Add a floor and set the roof to ignore the top floor. Then you will be able to add a balcony, by creating a deck, then changing the room type to balcony. -
Just a quick note regarding the floor in the attic. It seems that the ceiling joists are 2 x 6 with a span of 35' or so. Putting a floor on such members raises some serious questions about the structural design. That being said, adding a 3rd foor, and setting the roof dbx to ignfor the 3rd floor solves the floor surface in the attic, Here is what the framing view looks like with a floor structure for the 3rd floor, telling the roof build to ignore the 3rd floor and raising the roof a bit to account for the floor thickness.

Just export the plan file. That should be small enought to post the plan file. If not. you can put it is a cloud file (such as dropbox or onedrive) and then post a link to the file.

Finally figured it out. When you click on a face, the revolve icon pops up. That tool can't be found in the help file, nor in the tool search though.
-
Yes and unless I have a strange help file, or I need new glasses, nothing
-
I know I have used this tool before to revolve a face about a point to create a tapered clindrical 3d shape but now, I am totally lost. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Your best bet at getting a meaningful answer is to post the plan file.

I have the Matterport system. I can do a house in about 1-2 hours, and then use that for reference when doing as built drawings. Typeically I chage $500 for a realtor to use that file for walktrhoughs if required. Typically for that purpose the owner has to have cleaned up the place and hopefully have staged it. For renovations the house is so untidy that a vitural walk through is not very attractive. Matterport will generate a floor plan file that could be used for real estate purposed very well. For that I chager about $200 but only if my other costs are being covered by a project on the same building. Here is an example of a matterport floor plan. 3Tavaner_x5nmk8k28q33pdmcfk80s5rqb.pdf

My guess is in the elevation view, the walls are not checked in the layers for that camera. Post the plan file so that others may offer a suggestion.
