  1. i built this roof with trusses checked but there still is no option to raise roof here?
  2. Hi Eric, so the only way to raise roof is to do this before you build it? Because this option is not available after roof has been built? What if i had a very complex roof that was manually drawn, i have to redo roofs to raise them?
  3. plan shows 2600 the zip file shows 0
  4. I am not sure what i am doing wrong? roof plan example.zip
  5. Here is a sample plan where i raised roof off plates 10" and the walls fail to raise to meet the soffit? How would one make a roof with a high heel if the walls dont raise? Am i missing something? roof plan.plan roof plan.zip
  6. I have raised roof but walls do not raise after? I have auto attic wall rebuild turned on. The structure tab in the wall shows they are at standard height. I thought ca used to raise walls automatically, should i just be manually just pulling up walls?
  7. HI everyone, i am trying to place some pot lights in a flat roof soffit, as you can see the pot lights take the slope of the roof no matter what i do. Any suggestions?
  8. I am working on a project right now with stucco joints and a composite wood grain panels, i used the material regions for the panels and stucco joints, i used polyline solids for the posts..
  9. Yes the extra lines...annoying, my perspective on this is it is a artistic rendering and it is meant to convey a design. I keep the extensions on and keep the lines squiggle on..here is the settings i use. So in the end it is quick and artistic so i put up with the lines as there could be construction lines visible in a water colour. I guess i would tell customer if asked that this is to convey the design intent.
  10. If a raytrace is done well...it looks great..i see so many that dont..this water colour rendering took me secs to do..
  11. HI everyone, there is always a lot of discussion about ray traces and how to make them look good. In my opinion total waste of time when you can get a rendering using the water colour after setting up the scene with your max 8 lights that conveys the design very well... Here is an interior and exterior..comments?
  12. I have an interior 4" wall flush with the inside face of a 6" exterior wall, the 6" walls are not closing properly, i have checked to make sure all walls are standard top and bottom heights. I have never seen this before. The two exterior walls are different types but the same thickness and main layers and dimension layers. Any ideas?
  13. But should I be painting walls with painter tool , doesn’t this cause problems
  14. Knowing that only 8 lights can display at one time, is there a way to group lights and turn on and off these groups?
  15. I am using material regions for battens and wanted to be able to show customer different wall colours by opening wall and Changing material, but then I need to also change material region. i wanted to link material region with a wall material.
  16. I have used my logo and made it a wall surface and set it high on wall and made it faint and it runs around entire room. another way is to put a picture on wall with a promotion of your business . View in Chief Architect’s 360° Panorama Viewer.
  17. I might have painted it, can’t remember, I have not redrawn it yet, I guess that is what I will do. i thought there might be a simple answer. thanks
  18. I am having trouble when I change exterior wall surface material on defaults one of my walls on my model will not change to new default, anyone have a reason or fix?
  19. Hey Michael, looks like a good way, the only problem is chief has very limited hex tiles...also harder to mix different tiles this way. Cheers.
  20. I made a tile with a surrounding grout as a material region and then copied again and again, I will save this and I should be able to drop it in another plan .
  21. Thanks Eric....much better to do with material regions...for both grout and tile... not sure if i will keep multi-colours but i like the effect. Cheers...
  22. I built polyline solids for grout and tile and then had to make a material region to cut out floor because in water colour view the lines of the hardwood would show thru unless i made tile at least 1/8" or thicker than hardwood? not sure why this is happening...i thought that even if polyline solids were 1/16 above floor it should cover the floor?
