  1. Ok, i thought maybe you rubi guris might have a way to extrapolate this data...
  2. Hi Joe, i was looking for an automated way of exporting materials from each room at once.
  3. Hi Ken, i want a list of all materials but by room not by floor
  4. Hi all, is there a way to get a material list in a schedule or spreadsheet that shows quantities by room?
  5. Mark, did you see 2020 now has a 360 virtual view like ca? Have you any experience with their virtual view?
  6. Thanks Eric, then i suppose i would need to add my flush door fillers in manually.
  7. only problem is when i turn this off there is still no way to change the door width size?
  8. Is there a setting ca uses to determine how far to pull cabinet doors and drawers away from another intersecting perpendicular cabinet? I looked around and could not find it and there is no way to change as far as i could see it was locked.
  9. i work for a custom cabinet shop and we do whole house renovations and we apply fillers flush to doors/drawers in corners, next to walls all the time. Maybe if you were a builder grade cabinet shop then perhaps you would not do this. Here are an example of a some fillers we are just completing on a reno.. Once doors go on we have flush fillers to door face, looks good, maybe more than most do?
  10. Hi glen I don't need volume but only sq ft, I show it as a counter to show it has depth in 3D view . how would I make it a material? in material list the counters just kind of show up, you would think they would show up with each cabinet or room? Is there a way to change how they are calculated?
  11. I use polyline solids for shower benches and shower shelfs, is there a way for ca to calculate these in material lists?
  12. Thanks Joe, this is awesome...not i can see where fillers need to go and gables and overhangs. Cheers.
  13. Hi Dermot, i understand maybe no one has asked, but is this not typical cabinet construction? If so why doesnt ca follow standard construction practices, if one was building a full overlay cabinet would they not have fillers flush with doors? I have not made any feature requests, perhaps because so many do and nothing happens, does not seem worth the time.
  14. Hi Mark, i do have x9 and have doors turned on but it does not make a difference at all in plan, no change?
  15. I meant do the as builts in ca .. dam auto correct
  16. Thanks Mark, I did not know x9 could show doors in plan. I am connected up with a custom cabinet manufacturer and we do full house renovations. I do the as built plans in Canada then do the design and pm for the Reno. For us this this is a standard to have these fillers flush with doors. is this so unusual? If so why does ca not address this? Without these flush fillers all cabinet jobs look amateur!
  17. When placing cabinets near walls or butting perpendicular against other cabinets using a full face frame cabinet it is typical to have a filler flush with cabinet door. how is this done with ca? it also would be nice for ca to show cabinet doors in plan, it's like they don't exist? David
  18. Only problem with no mulling is the casing on the inside overlaps and looks like crap...ca missed this one.
  19. I actually tried that and it works until I mull it, then the door jamb takes on the interior colour of white not black.
  20. i did turn on exterior casing which extends jamb but when i mull window above and door then the door jamb now turns white. Also not every door or window needs a casing, lots of times in stucco walls there are no casing just the jamb/frame, ca does not allow the jamb to extend to exterior of wall without a jamb, in my opinion this is a software issue as it will not allow real life conditions to occur. David
  21. Here is the plan again, hope it works. door jamb plan2.zip
  22. Hi everyone, i am trying to put a transom window above a door and have no exterior casing. Apparently ca ties the jamb to the case so if you uncheck the ext case then ca removes the jamb and the framing shows thru,,,how stupid is that? So i tried making the case 3/4" to replicate a jamb but when i stack a window on top and try and mull window and door it will not allow me to make the exterior a different colour than the interior. Seems like a defect in the program, it would allow a door without a case? I have attached a sample plan to show. I dont believe this was a problem in earlier editions of ca, thoughts? door jamb plan.zip
