All I did was change that floor to -24”.. so there is no room above.

I have a drop floor 24" and a half wall with a stair bumped up against it..ca wants to draw a wall at ceiling? If i pull stair away it goes away but then half wall going down stairs is not sloped any more Anyone have an answer?

Mark if I have a bank of drawers next to a wall or inside corner of adjacent cabinets there will always be a space like 1.25-3” to allow for drawer and door opening. chief puts auto fillers in but flush with cabinetry not the doors so it looks amateurish.. we flush our fillers to front of drawers and doors. i wish ca had an option of where fillers were placed.. ie cabinet face or drawer/door face.

I got a new msi gaming laptop and I need to transfer all files to it, what is best way to do this? is there a way to connect both computers and do a transfer of files? dies it make sense to save files and libraries to google so I can access them anytime? Also we are looking to get a second license and think I want to have access to libraries. only thing does it slow down chief if I use google vs having files/libraries on a solid state drive ?

OMG.... thanks that is awesome... I work for a custom cabinet shop and we do full house renos as well, i am the in house designer/project mgr. We build all our cabinet boxes with prefinished birch plywood so all our exposed sides need plant on gables...i have been adding these manual for ever... We also do flush mount fillers for all drawers and doors...something ca will not do automatically? So would you set the cabinets default to auto panel for both sides and then turn off the side that was not needed?

HI all, we use plant on gables for all our cabinets and have them extend flush to front of doors. In ca there is an option to add side panels but it defaults to cabinet depth, any way to change this? I have been using manual gables for this but it should be automatic i think as an option.

Help...i cant for the life of me figure out where the layout box label defaults are located... Can someone point me in the direction...

The problem is grout line is too thin. its too bad there aren’t more hex tile textures as they are very popular now.

How do you write that macro

thanks david, the carrara can be used but the other has no grout and if i increase size the grout lines will be too big and show mesh through

I am looking for some large format hex tile textures, cant seem to find them anywhere. maybe 8 or 10" across, black, marble, etc... Anybody have some? I am little surprised ca doesnt have more or any?

I am trying to get an insulation count from material list and i have it checked but no insulation is showing up? Also for drywall it removes openings for drywall, how could you use this to give you total sq ft including all openings?

Thanks guys, so I need to make a fence panel a little narrower than my posts and build the fence panel with the tie beam 3/4 the way up, is this right? sounds like I will need a polyline solid above doors or gates in fence since ca will not allow the fence to go over a shorter door.

I am designing a mexican casa and they put walls up around entire perimeter of lot. They use a conc beam at top and 3/4 up and conc piers and then fill in with brick. Any way i could add this band in the middle using a fence? Also if i want to add a gate but still want the wall to go over the gate how do i do this with a fence? Maybe i use a wall instead? The fence is convenient as i can spec post spacing and top rail. Any suggestions on best way to do this?

Ever since ca came out with 360 views I have had this issue. if I log onto chief with phone and view 360 it will not go full screen and the only way out is to hit back button. But it if I send 360 link to someone using phone I can select link and it will fill the screen. anyond else having this issue ?

i tried both the wall align tool selecting upper wall and align below and also adjusted upper wall so the studs lined up. The walls are different, upper has siding and 3/8" sheathing, the lower 1/2" drywall. The upper main layer is set to the sheathing. Pulled walls away and snapped back to upper wall and still does not work.

here is a screen shot of both plans...exactly the same dimensions for walls as eric's...still does not work. There must be something else?

i lined up the main framing layer, but i have the build and dimension set to the exterior of sheathing...is this the problem?
