.....Why anyone would want to build a basement without a slab however is curious.
this is a Type of Basement Floor we use up here in Canada.
Essentially, it's a Crawlspace as your basement floor construction with Wood Joist framing or Open-Web floor trusses, instead on Slab on compacted fills.
makes warmer floor for cold climate.

CA only have Basement floor to have NO option, but just Concrete Slab floor.
what is the efficient or Best method to draw Basement Floor with Wood Joist construction, Basement Level (0) with Crawlspace.
my work-around, current method, is....
Level (0) to be Crawlspace, no floor construction,
Level (1) to Basement Floor using Floor Framing (2x10, etc..)
Level (2) to be Main Floor (above grade)..using Floor Framing (2x10, etc..)
Level (3) to be Second Floor (2nd-strory)..using Floor Framing (2x10, etc..)

hi all,
i have a Library of Ruby macro that was custom coded for me few years back.
some the task/script is not working anymore cuz of the X12 upgrade.
i would like have this Library upgraded and refresh the Code to the X12 version. and get it working again.
the Library was very well and beautifully coded by another guru/ruby master.
But unfortunately, iam unable reach the original programmer to redo this project.
im looking for someone that could help and take over and upgrade this Library.
Please contact me.

I don't think it is a video problem.
I think it is a missing image file problem.
I can assign another random image (.png file) and it displays instead of the original plant image.
When I do a 3D view in X12 I get a Missing File message dbx.
The missing tree image is specified as coming from the X10 data folder.
A lot of your textures are specified as coming from the X10 folder and some even coming from your X7 folder.
Does that sound correct to you?
the .png image is pulled from the ....
CA Bonus Catalogs.Zip file located in the....
Chief Architect Premier X10 Data/Textures/CA Bonus Catalogs.zip#zip:Carpinus caroliniana 1.png
Chief Architect Premier X12 Data/Textures/CA Bonus Catalogs.zip#zip:Carpinus caroliniana 1.png
ive checked in both X10 & X12 directory....CA Bonus Catalogs.Zip is there in both version. just one, X12 is not working.

i see it now....i guess it dont work on already used (drawn) Walls on the plan, prior to writing in the attributes.
look like have to redraw the entire plan.
and going forward it will be displayed.
thank you A_S!

Concrete Basement Floor
in General Q & A
Posted
yes, wish there was an Actual & proper method of handling Wood joist/crawlspace Basement Floors.
the Garage floor(technically & correctly) is to be on Level (1).....by using this Work-Around, the Garage and its foundation gets all messed up, being on Level (2).
just a Pain in the....to have it sorted out.
