  1. it's a $3000+ software.  plus another $600 Annual Supp. fee.

you shouldnt to have pay another $120/yr have it to Print properly.

im sure this is just minor Bug in Beta.

the Bug has been reported to CA, Im sure it will be patched up in Full Release.

  2. On a related topic....

now that i have 4 Materials on applied on 4 - 3D Solid objects, and have the Area.

Can I generate/make a "Custom Schedule" be created for those 3D Solid objects?

basically, it's just taking that Material List, the Excel spreadsheet format, and making a "Custom Schedule" with 4 of those Column.

  3. hi,

i have a piece of 3D Solid drawn on the Elevation and painted with a Hardie Board siding and I would like to show that Hardie Brd siding area in the Matr. List.

when i generate the Mat. List, it only calculate the Plan View area of that 3D solid, W x L = 1sf, into the Mat. List

how can i populate the 3D solid area (elevation view) into my Materials list.

Wow. How does it stack up to 27" iMac, resolution wise?

    IDK, i dont have a 27" iMac.

but is way better than the 3-27" Apple Cinema Display (2560x1440) i had using for pasted 6 years.

  6. Dell UltraSharp 43 4K U4320Q

it's like you're drafting 36"x24' sheet of paper on a Drafting table.

this is a relative perspective of the size.... the Layout sheet is the size of the 32" screen above.

New G9 Odessy 49" curved monitor (and will run my Dell 29" QHD in portrait mode off to the side of the big curved one.  (currently run 3 monitors. 2-24 and 1-29)

i tried the G9 Odessy 49", i found that i couldn't bare it, the Curve almost drove me nuts....lol.

when "drafting" and seeing the Cross hair and the floor plan at a curve.  and have short screen also was also inconvenient.

had to go back to a flat screen.

my favourite & current setup now is the Dell 42"....AND like yours...with the 2-24 and 1-32" Samsung, as well

the 42" is like im actually looking at and Manually, on table /pencil Drafting on a 36" x 24" sheet of paper....like old school Drafting....LOL.

HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend the Dell 42"....or maybe 43" model.

    Yep. I see the frustration.

yes, thats the exact method / work around til now.

    my work-around, current method, is....

Level (0) to be Crawlspace, 4" Stem wall, and no floor construction "Air",

Level (1) to Basement Floor using Floor Framing (2x10, etc..)

Level (2) to be Main Floor (above grade)..using Floor Framing (2x10, etc..)

Level (3) to be Second Floor (2nd-strory)..using Floor Framing (2x10, etc..)

...anyway, it looks like you may have a great solution thanks to Ryan.

....No one ever said that hillside projects were easy to design/draft.

    ...

this no mean a great solution for this task....it's a pain to have to resort to this solution.

this would be my Wish List item....to able to have ability for Level (0)/lowest Level to have  option for other Floor constructions, beside just Concrete or "Air" floor.

this method/floor types is not just for one off...."hillside projects" ...this is the "norm"....we do 1000's of these plans in my Region....for rear, "Walk-Out" basements in all new Subdivisions.....1000s!!!
