I've never seen a Chief upgrade or new release that doesn't follow this same MO. Super frustrating as the good folks at Chief are madly working away on features THEY think will benefit users (or sales) while users request over and over again features that get ignored and just never make it in to the program. I've grown used to it and don't fight it any longer and have decided to just enjoy the new features because that mentality is not going to change any time soon, or least hasn't in the 20 years I've used the program.

It's also why I don't make feature requests as they mostly go ignored and then Chief decides that the library (for example) needs upgrading even though one would be hard pressed to find a single request from a user to do so. Not bitter about it all and just learned to accept any and all of the new features and enjoy the program.

    Well put it!!!

Where's the Flush Beam & Dropped Beam option?

  2. Hi,

Is there a setting in the Door to omit the opening Door percentage area, not account it in the Wall Schedule??

So the schedule just calculate the windows opening percentage only.

or Setting in for the schedule just for the opening percentage of doors only & Windows only & all openings.

...opens fine initially and then .. when you change views that would trigger a new toolbar configuration

opens and working fine....then sometime just randomly crashes like that.  it's happening more & more frequently lately.

not to point of unworkable, but just annoying to shut down & reopen app.

..... So, a possible scenario. You create a project in Version 16 (you own Version 14) and decide that you no longer need the  SSA updates. You can no longer use Version 16 and can't open any projects created with it. This is exactly what happens with Softplan. I would like to hear Chief's explanation about what version of the software one is actually going to own.

this is a great point!!  if you we're to switch to a the Sub License (X15, X16...etc.) and down the road, you find that you cant afford the Sub Lic anymore and need to cancel, revert to using your Leg Lics X14....now, at that time, you are not able to open you files any more, in X14??

Away from my computer but as I recall, those settings obey the last setting they were given during the Send to Layout operation.  In other words, I think the “Default” (or at least the closest thing to it) is in the Send to Layout dialog.  Again, that’s just from memory.  It might be wrong, but it’s worth a look.

     No...Not in there.

  7. Hi

When I use the material eyedropper function in the elevation view.

Sometime it only changes the colour of the Material that I wanna change but the patterns remains unchanged.

Another times, it changes as it is expected, both, the material and a pattern.

    TIA

  8. hi,

When you hatch to polyline with a grid pattern, and you move the polyline, But the fill pattern stays stationary.

is there an option to lock or shift the hatch Fill pattern to the Polyline?

So that the grid pattern stays in line with a Polyline, the way you intended to be.
