  1. I have always used a third party program to do photo montages. I don't think you can get a good 3D effect by only using a background. This is a very old one.
  2. What tools are you using to draw the roads? Post a plan.
  3. Steve, I am not saying that it does or doesn't work properly, just giving my observations. The stem wall height seems to behave differently for the bay walls and the main floor area walls. The difference between the 2 footing levels is the same as the floor framing height. Normally, with that setting checked, the stem wall height is measured from top of footing to top of floor above, and when it is unchecked the stem wall height is measured from top of footing to underside of floor framing - hence the footing height difference between having that setting checked versus unchecked. For some reason this does not apply to the foundation walls forming a bay window. You may be able to get what you want by unchecking Hang 1st Floor Platform Inside Foundation Walls in the Build Foundation dbx and then in the foundation walls dbx's check Hang Floor Platform Above On Wall and check Include Ledger. Although, I am not 100% sure about any of the above.
  4. Try unchecking "Hang 1st Floor Platform Inside Foundation Walls" in the Foundation Defaults in the Build Foundation dbx.
  5. Thanks John, but I have no idea what you are talking about, it looks like a load of old cobblers to me.
  6. Thanks for doing that John. You can toggle on Arc Centres And Ends on so that you can snap all the centre points to the one cad Place Point.
  7. Johnny, Can you explain in a bit more detail why you can't copy/paste into a new plan? Why do you need to block walls or other elements to do a copy/paste?
  8. Also, the window will change size depending on side of the window you click at the jamb.
  9. Once you have seleced the window by the jamb, and placed your cursor over the windows temp dim size , the cursor should change to a hand, then click the dim, a small box will display indicating the current window dim, change it as reuired. PS, you need to select the window and then select it again by the jamb. Once you have selected it the second time by the jamb, the small grip will change into a large grip.
  10. On your "Floor Plan Dimensioned Layer Set", turn off the display of the "Dimensions, Framing - Floor" layer - the unwanted dimensions are your floor framing dimensions.
  11. Rich, You give bananas to monkeys to reward good behaviour...
  12. Or maybe this one where the treads wrap around the post. But using the stair tool as well as other methods to get the treads to wrap. There are many tools available that should get you close to what you want.
  13. I can get close pretty quickly - but probably no banana. The glass clamps and some other details would take a bit longer - but mostly doable. It may also be difficult to get the exact newel spacing correct and I had trouble wrapping the treads around the pole. I have to make the point though that any spiral tool that Chief may develop would never be able to include every custom type of spiral stair - there are just too many variables and options, too many details.
  14. What type of spiral stair do you want? This one took about ten minutes using the stair tool, oh, and a cylinder.
  15. Yes, but the problem with using single letter commands is that they preclude you from using any other shortcuts that start with P.
  16. You could try automatic or manual Roof Blocking. Chances are if you have built auto roof framing, the blocking is there. Check and see if the Framing, Roof Blocking layer is turned on.
  17. I have Pan mapped to a "PA" shortcut. Start dragging the wall. PA while dragging. Pan - you can Pan multiple times if needed. Click to place endpoint. Works in continuous draw mode as well.
  18. Did you create a 3D Molding Symbol or a 2D Molding Profile? The first are made from 3D objects, the second are made from a 2D cad profile. Looks like you may have created a 3D Molding Symbol. A 3D Molding Symbol will not wrap an external corner - or an internal corner, it just looks like it does - it stops perpendicular to the walls.
  19. As a PS to this thread. Both Google Maps and Apple Maps have a save as .pdf function which should be much better quality than a screen grab and which will allow you to import the .pdf into your plan or layout.
  20. I like Eric's first suggestion best - His second suggestion - will require a roof rebuild to remove the gutters.
  21. Once you have the windows tabbed on the side of the screen, grab one by the tab and drag it over the edge of the screen. Do the same for each tab. Or you should be able to drag the windows down under the first window that you dock on the side. Make sure you have Side Window Drag Docking checked in Preferences They should stack like this.
  22. Hoi Benny, the 0 just gives you the absolute thinnest line display thickness on your monitor to make it easier when you zoom far in for precise measurements etc. For example, when placing cabinets and you want to zoom in real close to see if 2 cabinets are just touching or overlapping just enough to mess with dimension strings. You won’t find this kind of information in the help files. Which is the reason we have a user forum. Glen must be grumpy today. (kidding) Ok, I will make it easy:
  23. Open the dbx for the Dimension Defaults you are using>Text Style panel>Options>uncheck Transparent.
  24. That information is very easy to find in the help file.
  25. It doesn't look like Layer Display Options to me. In layout, it looks like it could be File>Print>Drawing Sheet Setup>Advanced Line Weight Options to me. Is it set at 1/100mm or is it set at something else?
