ChiefuserLarkin
Hello, working with the trial version and will be buying the software soon. The auto roofs is a great tool but how do you create the roof in Chief like I did in AutoCAD? The entry roof ties into the gable over the bedroom, the right side of house has a 9' wall, then 1' truss heel raise next to that and the entry has a 2' truss heel raise. I understand how to raise the wall heights but not sure how to do the roofs. See attached. Thanks! Jason
imodel
Try adding invisible walls to define a "porch room". This should be an easy one. HTH.
DRAWZILLA
I would use a railing wall, post to beam. you will have to adjust the roof manually to get that condition. Can be done very easily but you need to read up on roofs to do it.
javatom
Roof planes can generate from where the walls are located. You can also place one over an open area with no walls at all.
ChiefuserLarkin
Ok this is what I have, I tried doing what you told me to do. Frustrating! It needs to look like the pic I've attached.
Greg_NY61
Post a plan, it would help.
javatom
Your nested gabble looks right but the upper section just needs to close the gap. You can do that by clicking on a roof edge, punch the #2 key and then the edge of the other roof plane. They software will close the gap for you. ChiefuserLarkin
Looks easy if you know what you're doing! HA! I've got an online presentation next week with Chief to go through it! Still new to all this fancy software!
