wnschoen
Should I be using Text or Rich Text? Why are there still two in the various updates? What is the difference?
DRAWZILLA
I try to use rich text when I can but some things must use regular text like room labels and macro's. Rich text gives you more options for formatting text.
javatom
I use text. Could be my imagination but, a plan that is all rich text is slower to view, edit, save, and may make a bigger file size when converted to pdf.
Alaskan_Son
Should I be using Text or Rich Text? Why are there still two in the various updates? What is the difference? Not sure if you really got the answer you were looking for or not. I think Perry alluded to what you were seeking but didn't elaborate when he said "Rich text gives you more options for formatting text." Rich text gives you the ability to use Bold, Italics, Underline, etc. Normal text does not have these options.

Rich text gives you the ability to use Bold, Italics, Underline, etc. Normal text does not have these options. In addition, with Rich Text, any individual Letters, Words or Lines can be different. With just plain Text everything is the same.
ebdesign
I use plain text unless I need to "mix it up" in the same text dbx. However, once you use rich text, you "own' it forevermore. w/ plain text, you can make global style changes using text styles & layers.
Joe_Carrick
Right, You can change PlainText to Rich Text but you can't change Rich Text to PlainText.
