decorators3
I'm using Chief Architect Premier X18 and came across the attached image showing a Cross Section/Elevation with the wall studs, floor joists, roof trusses and other structural framing clearly visible. I can create cross sections , but I'm not sure how to display the framing as shown in this example. Is this something that can be generated automatically in Chief Architect, or does the framing need to be built separately before it will appear in the section? I'd appreciate any guidance on how to achieve this type of detailed framing view.
joey_martin
All the framing is built as you model the structure. Ensure that you have set all the defaults to the proper size components.

You can set that under Build > Framing > Build All Framing... and checking Automatically Rebuild Framing. This setting will constantly build and update your framing as the plan changes, but could result in slower performance. You can also Build Framing Once there, and also build framing manually for rooms and specific framing members. You can also build framing once at Build > Framing > Build All Framing

Once the framing is built, you will also need to have the Framing layers turned on in your cross-section view. The standard 3D Framing Layer Set might work, or you can customize the layers being displayed to get what you want.
para-CAD
Be careful trusting anything auto framed. It's not always accurate.
