floor plans

I received a ZIP file from a developer that was originally sent by another draftsman. Can anyone tell me how I can determine how many floor plans, if any, are included in the file?

When I opened the ZIP, I found a floor plan layout , but when I open it in Chief only see dwg files  I’m not sure if I’m missing something, if there are other files I should be opening, or if only one floor was actually included.

Any help would be appreciated!

The zip file contains AutoCAD files only, and when opened in AutoCAD, there are two floor plans: a basement and a main floor.

 

 

You will need to import the dwg file that has the floor plans.  

 

Your first step should be to unzip the files to a new directory and then open them in AutoCAD to find the files that you need for CA.

Autodesk has a free DWG viewer that allows you to view Acad files:

In addition to what the others said....you can import the CAD file into Chief....for viewing, manipulation, etc.
