Piling Home. First Floor Siding is not covering the first floor trusses. Leaves open area?

Greetings: I have updated to X17 from C10 recently after using C10 for over 20 years. Most of my designs are on pilings set at 96" height with a 12" girder on top. I use 14" floor trusses on top of the girder so the first finished floor is 122.75" from grade. The problem I am encountering is the siding for the first floor stops at the finished floor. I am trying to extend the siding down 14.75" to cover the floor trusses. I was chatting on open AI last night but could not find the resolution to filling the open gap for the floor truss location. From what I gathered this is a common problem when importing files from older versions of Chief. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank You! Glenn Willis

I am guessing that you were using X10 or maybe Version 10 since there was no C10 that I know of.  In either case, the older the plan, the more problems you will see when you bring it into the latest version.  At some point, it might be less frustrating to just draw it over using all of the new defaults.

It is possible to change your wall type so that you can extend the siding down to cover the floor trusses (look under layer properties in the wall type dialog) but normally you should not need to do this.  Not sure what would cause this problem in an old plan though.

Might be best to post your plan so someone can poke around in it.

Hi @GlennWillis3696, have you read this article below about legacy files ? I have followed these instructions and have had good results with legacy file models in newer versions of CA.

Re: extending external siding layers downwards, did you see the new feature made in CAX15 ? About halfway through this video.
