Skip_D
Hi, Is there a way to supress the outer layer of a wall, or roof, in elevations? My 2d elevations look too busy with cedar siding and roof shingles; I'd rather it not show, or if it does, with a much lighter line weight or light gray. thanks, George
Adam_Gibson
How you tried converting the elevation to CAD using the "CAD Detail from View" command? Then you can delete anything you'd like. Alternately, you could create walls or roofs without the surfaces.
PitMan71
Hey skip How I would do this.... Copy the material definition to your user catalog and rename it something to dilineate it from the original. Once this is done you can then open nd edit the material definition. Once in the editor, the top panel is "Pattern". Under the pattern section, change it from hatch (or whatever it is set to) to "no pattern". This should keep the image in the 3d viewer while suppressing the hatch texture. Give this a go and see if its what you were needing.
tundra_dweller
You can also toggle all the material patterns on or off in 3D views.

GeneDavis
I prefer elevations sent to layout as plot lines and then when in layout, the pattern lines set to 1 and color gray not black.
tundra_dweller
Yep I like to use the same method as Chris & Gene. Sometimes for basic prelim versions I will toggle off all the patterns in elevation views when we aren't sure of materials yet.
