ACADuser
I have seen a S Hall video on this but can't for the life of me find it again. Trying to remove the partition so the raised doorway actually joins the full doorway to eliminate the partition. Point me in the direction please. Thanks
Larry_Sweeney
I think the smaller unit is a window. If you make it a window the partition should go away.
ACADuser
No joy, I tried that first.
Dennis_Gavin
Do you have your minimum separation set to 0"?
Joe_Carrick
Have you considered using a full width doorway and a half wall inside that? There are several ways to accomplish this - that would probably be my choice, but you could also use a divider wall and a half wall.
ACADuser
I changed back to a window pass through with min. seperation set to zero & still has a partition. Joe, I will try the half wall.
ACADuser
Well half wall still has a partition. Is there a min, separation for doors? Don't like the fact that I now have to build a soffit to fill in above the opening left by the half wall. Scott, wake up. The sun should be coming up in California about now. I'm pretty sure Scott was using door ways & the video was to help someone with arched or round top doorways & thick walls as I remember.
Joe_Carrick
Alan, Is this what you are trying to do? The 1st pic uses a Divider Wall and a Half Wall. The 2nd pic uses a Half Wall, No Room Def moved into the opening created by a Doorway.
ACADuser
Yes, but I figured out what is going on. When you add an arch to one of the doorways it will join. That's what Scott was using. Here is a 0.25 arch
ACADuser
Joe, what did you use to fill in above the half wall?
Joe_Carrick
I used a Soffit.
ACADuser
Thanks Joe, My knowledge is so limited I don't see all the options yet. But things are getting better. Here it is with a 1/16 arch, that was the key all along. I'm just roughing things out so all the openings & knee walls are not correct yet. Dennis_Gavin
If you use a doorway and pass through with no casing and set the frame for the window to 0, minimum separation 0, it will show OK.
ACADuser
Thanks for your time Dennis, I think I did not set the frame width but did set separation to 0.
Dennis_Gavin
Alan - I had to go back and check how I did it. I forgot about the frame width myself.
