Byyourbuilder
I am having trouble educating myself on the new transparent fill tool in x 7. Have not found any good sources that let me fully understand the workings either in reference manual, or this forum, I never have done additions before till now but took a project that would look better if I could fade out to some degree the existing house parts to highlight the new addition in the layout .. If you can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.....
DRAWZILLA
It's very easy, just draw a rectangular p-line around the existing part of the house, shape it as necessary, then just adjust the fill as necessary..

DRAWZILLA
Your not wasting my time, none of it belongs to me anyway. Most things are just that easy if you know how its done, I'm still learning too.

Hello Perry, I heard about this a couple of months ago and asked how it was different from the present - fill with transparent check box checked and was told no, it's completely different. From your description above it's the same tool.....Are you guys messing with me?
HumbleChief
Not messing with you. 2 different tools. http://www.screencast.com/t/1Cb67ecpSUB7
DRAWZILLA
The new tool gives you different degrees of transparency, not just total transparency.
Gawdzira
See attached. White fill faded as a way to fade out the portion of the elevation that is not orthogonal to the camera.

Ahhhhhh, more of a shade tool than fill tool......henceforth my confusion.
Gawdzira
No. that would be filled completely in white (or magenta...) but it allows you to specify the transparency.
