Dennis_Gavin
I have a room with a deck above. I am trying to do a ceiling plane which would be the "rafter" area for the room. I cannot get framing for the ceiling plane. I WILL post the plan if no one knows an answer off the top of their head.
Joe_Carrick
Dennis, I think you need to make it a part of the "Floor Structure" of the Deck. Something like: 1 Decking material 2. Floor Joists 3. Air Gap 4. Ceiling Joists 5. Ceiling Finish (Drywall, etc.)
DRAWZILLA
That's strange ceiling planes usually always frame. Is everything turned on?
Dennis_Gavin
OK, I now have them framing. I checked several items so am not sure which one did it. Is it controlled via the roof framing? As you can see I never used this before.
CJSpud
It seems that Chief recommends using a Balcony (I think) when you have a room below. Maybe that will make some difference for you.
