X7 Can't Delete Auto Exterior Dims Using Delete Objects Auto Dimension.

Hi, 

Anyone else find this to be true.  

 

Deleting them manually won't let you re auto dimension because to do so they need to be deleted via Delete Objects / Auto Dimension--catch 22

I'm not sure what you are saying.  I can delete any dimensions, auto or manual.

If you delete (modify) an auto dimension, it 1) becomes a manual dimension and 2) will then prompt you to turn off the auto dimension with auto-refresh (since it won't refresh your manual dimension).  So, you need to make a decision…

 

I typically turn the auto dimension off once I have the shell and the openings setup and manually make my adjustments.

Yes, perhaps I was caught in that edit quagmire, I'm not sure what happened, but that sounds like it may be the case.

Maybe a modified auto dim could auto change to the manual dim layer.

In earlier versions we had a checkbox in the dim dbx that would indicate if it was a manual or auto dim and allow the user to mark them as either.

It seems to have gotten lost along the way.
