calgaryhomes
I'm trying to send a complex foundation 3D model to a client using 3D viewer, but the colours & generated Blue Sky backdrop is really annoying in the 3D viewer model. When rotating the on-screen model the foundation is difficult to see the foundation drops and various footing heights and relationships this way. How do I remove the backdrop from the 3D viewer model and can I share the 3D viewer model in black & white only/no colours? thanks
DBCooper
Have you tried removing the backdrop in Chief before exporting the model? I haven't used the viewer before but this is what I would try first. You could also try saving the camera with color off (or maybe as a vector view). If those don't solve your problems, you could also try the desktop viewer. As long as the person you are sending the plan to has a good computer, it should look just like it does in Chief. DavidJPotter
A great question for Tech Support or Customer Service or as DB said, take a look and experiment for yourself. DJP
robdyck
Scott, the 3d viewer does have terrible viewing quality and there's really no way around this. For better viewing quality you would be better off using an orbital walkthrough video (or similar) and then sharing the link.
robdyck
Take a look at the difference here using a free 3d online viewer and a 3ds export:
