Stairs not showing on second floor.

I'm working on a small apartment inside a metal building. I cannot figure out how to show the stairs on the second floor.

 

 

 

I tried adding a stairwell but because the room is open above it wont work.

 

 

Is there a way to make it work, or do I have to 2d it in?

That big open space in the building where the stairs are, should be defined by walls and as Open Below.

I set it to show but it made no difference.

 

 

There is no room above the stairs. Is that the issue?

Thank you @DavidJPotterthat helped me tremendously. I locked them rooms because I was editing dimensions and kept opening the room dialog.

Here I extended your existing walls to form an Open Below room.

 

Or use a reference layer which will also work just fine.
