TomSams
I apologize for being so vague. Let me rephrase my question. Are there any training &/or instructional rsferences on how to build a portico over a garage door with CA?

A portico in most areas refers to a porch style roof that sticks out from an entry. Do you maybe mean an "eyebrow" roof over a garage door? Yes (regional maybe), sounds like what some might call an Arbor, Trellis or Pergola Link.......Like this : Mini Tutorial: https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00889/creating-a-custom-pergola.html

Kbird1
Yep could be indeed , not whatt I'd call a Portico like you but maybe ... So a couple of the Ranch brackets from the library and a manual Roof plane then. Mick.
TomSams
Thank you all for your input. You are correct in that this may be a regional semantics issue. But rgardener has zeroed in on my thinking.

But rgardener has zeroed in on my thinking. If you want to do it with auto roofs you will do an open below room and set the walls to invisible, setting the roof pitch/overhang, etc. on those three walls in front of the garage door. But honestly faster to place a manual roof or ceiling plane setting it to specs (I use a ceiling plane if I don't want to turn off auto-roofs and set my layers accordingly.) You will have to place the beam and corbels or posts manually using the framing tools.

You might need to lower it down as well? https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/25/drawing-roofs-manually.html?playlist=95 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00634/raising-or-lowering-a-roof-plane.html M.
