Casement window hinge / opening direction indication in plan view

Is there a way to show which way casement windows open in plan view, just like doors?

This was a topic back in 2018.  Several people gave +1s, but I haven't found that it's been implemented.  I'm using X13.

You can do it by customizing a parametric glass hinged door and changing the specifications but it takes some work.  Most will just place a cad arc to show it.

As Ryan says you can use doors, but honestly it's just as easy to create a CAD block and put it on there if needed. I have created CAD blocks for my refrigerators and tall linen cabinets that I like to use, same can be done for casement windows..

One day hopefully...   If Chief can show doors w/ swings (in plan), then windows should be no problem.

Regarding the solution, like others have posted, both methods work.

Meaning using doors as casement windows. That said, the CAD block method works just as well (to show swings)

The only minor issue with the door method (and calling doors casements) is that it'll mess with the window schedule.

Hello, how can I show the sliding window opening direction in the elevation (like the arrow pointing which direction it opens)?

Is there any way to create a small gap or offset between the door and casing? Like a real door would have, to leave just a tiny bit of room for the hinges. Specifically for open interior doors. I've made a door hinge symbol I'd like to use, and I assume I'd have to make a different one for various swing angles, but I'm not seeing any obvious way to create that small gap. By default, Chief's doors just meet the casing at the corner completely, leaving no room. I could force the hinges in there, but they would clip through the door and casing and look less realistic.

I'd also like to add a strike plate to the casing and latch to the door, but short of placing the symbols myself that doesn't seem very plausible right now. Maybe a suggestion for a future version of Chief.

At one time, the hinge/swing direction of cabinet doors was displayed in elevation views, but it isn't happening any more.  Is there a setting that I need to change?

      Hi

I have a room 40' long by 25' wide.  How do I change the flooring direction.  When I insert my hardwood flooring it shows automatically as horizontal.( which is fine in most cases). but i want the planks to take on the length of the floor not the width

      Thanks in advance

How can I get operable windows to show in my building elevations?  Dot-dash lines for casement and awning windows.  Some windows are fixed and want to make clear to client and contractor which windows are operable and from which side (left or right).
