basilbabaa
I am designing a soffit system in a basement for HVAC ducting. But, the HVAC registers will only place in walls, floors, or ceilings. Any suggestions on how to place them in the sidewall of a Soffit?
Chopsaw
"Inserts into Cabinet Front" seems to work for Soffits. Not sure that I have ever made a hole in a soffit though ?
ericepv
Check to make sure you have the height to top/bottom set correctly.
basilbabaa
It will insert into a cabinet but not the vertical sidewall of a soffit... at least not for me in either X12 or X13 I even tried a test plan. 4 walls and a cabinet and soffit. But the wall register will not place in the soffit, only the wall and cabinet. So, my solution, was to copy to my user catalog. Edit the Symbol. Change its placement to none. Then place it on a wall, raise it into the desired vertical position, and then move it to the correct horizontal position. Lots of work for something that should be just point and click to place. If anyone is able to place it in the vertical sidewall of a soffit in an easier method than that of my goofy workaround, I would certainly like to see how. Maybe a video clip? builtright3
I placed it on the wall, adjusted the height and then I drug it out to the face of the soffit.
basilbabaa
Thanks everyone. I was trying to place it in a wall elevation and/or 3D view for 1 step process. Locating it plan view then adjusting elevation seems reasonable. From there I'll just copy them around the room. Thank you again.
