Wall niche with a door

Please see pic. I am trying to do the circled part....wall thickness is around 30" with a closet inside the wall. Only way I can think of is a wall niche...but then I cannot place the door.

 

Any idea how to do this?

Use thin (normal 2x4) walls front & back of the closet instead of a thick wall.

Correct way to model it.  That is not a thick wall.

Perhaps you can show with a screen grab picture of what is not working for you?  or upload the plan file so someone can try to help you.

As Ryan said, it's not a 30" thick wall, just some wall framing with a CAD box the same color as the walls filling in the gap.
