ChiefJeet
I am building a third floor and roof with "ignore top floor". It works fine on a new plan but on this one, the walls keeps extending out above the roof. This issue has been discussed before but don't know how it was resolved. Can someone with more knowledge help me on this. File attached. NewhamptonRdE268 Backup.plan
DavidJPotter
Unwanted "Attic walls" on the <A> "Attic level" can be made invisible or just deleted as you wish. DJP
ChiefJeet
Thanks David. These are wanted attic walls that should not shoot out above roof.

When I add third floor and build roof with "ignore top floor" check, these walls should not generate above the 2nd floor ceiling height. That is the issue. robdyck
If you don't want this wall, then why have it in the plan? Delete it or change it.

We can delete them, paint over them or make them invisible. What I am trying to establish is the cause of it so that we don't have to keep deleting the walls. I think I have worked it out and have shown it in the video below. I think it is the floor thickness which is puncturing the roof and causes the walls to shoot up. I would welcome any further suggestions Walls extending through roof 1.mp4 Walls shooting through roof 1.plan
SH_Canada
I had a similar thread about five months ago. Where a wall was building through the roof.for a truss heel. There appears to be a magic formula. It would only occur for a roof a certain distance from the top plate. If you search the forum for my name you should see it. I logged with support. If I remember correctly they said to delete the wall
