I'm having an issue where the framing members for a flat roof (1/4" slope) over a porch are not displaying correctly in the cross section. My default setting for rafter size and the specification in the roof plane dialogue for that roof plane are set to 5 1/2", but it always draws the cross section as a 2x4. If I select any of the framing members individually and open the dialogue box, it says it's 5 1/2". The trusses and framing for the rest of the house all come in correctly. Any quick thoughts come to mind?
also, Is it better to upload a screen shot showing the problem or the whole file on here?
Made a video to describe what I'm wondering...
I hope the behavior of building the roof using "auto rebuild" is normal Chief behavior - because I have to admit I've never noticed this before today.

Hello, I am looking for some advise on how to improve the intersecting roofs which will overlap gable roof onto the hip roof so water avoid the corner on an addition project for myself. In the "elevation" picture, the hip roof to left is existing roof that will be extended to insect the new addition gable roof to the right. We like floor plan layout and ceiling heights but having trouble getting the roof line correct. I have attached the plan file and some snapshots.
Second question: How would I create the roofline extension like the attached "roof line" photo?
Thanks for help.
I'm new to chief as of a few weeks ago. I'm really loving how in-depth you can get with it. Hopefully this isn't to much of a newbie question that is easily answered somewhere else but I have seen anything on it. I'm trying to attach a shed roof to a gable. I have a feeling this is something similar to a porch roof, but after messing with it for a few hours I cant figure it out.
This is what I'm go
Here is where I'm at.
I've attached my plan if that helps!

I am having some problems with getting the garage roof to be an 11/12 pitch and the attached house being 8/12 pitch, one of the roof planes is part of the garage and apart of the house. I am new to this and can't draw the roof manually very well. I have been using the auto roof and just changing the settings.
