staggered hardie lap siding 3 and 5" reveals

Recommended Posts

Any suggestions on how to modify a material so that I can create this effect.  I have created a 2" reveal and a 7" reveal, but never one that alternates between two sizes.  Thanks!!!

Use an existing material. Edit in an image editor. Use the new image to create a new material.

Eric is there an image editor that you like to use that is easy to use?

Probably any one will work. The one I use is very basic and 20 years old. You should have some version of Paint on your system.

GIMP is free and very good...not particularly easy per se... but lots of YouTube videos to explain almost anything.

Well darn,  The above options work in the 3d perspective views for the materials, but the pattern is still single lines 7" apart in the vector and 2d views I send to my layouts..  Anyway to get the pattern 5" and 3" for the 2D views? Thanks for all the great ideas!
