One plane, two buildings: how to set number of floors individually

I need to show a guest house separate from the main house in the same plan for 3D views and other reasons.  If I add a second story to one, the other one gets it too.  How do I control separate buildings individually in terms of floors?

or only Add a Blank Floor ( don't derive from 1st floor ) and then draw you own walls on the building that is 2 story using the Reference view to snap too.

Deleting one Wall will break the Room definition and yes , in 3D the Floor will disappear, it may not mean all the other walls are "gone" though.

You're absolutely right.  Strange that all 2nd floor walls would disappear in 3D after deleting one: how does CA manage to construct the 3D as such, ignoring those 3 odd 2nd floor walls?

My guess is that you did not select the wall in the 3D view.

I think you selected the room instead, and then deleted the room.

Go to Preferences>Architectural and check Select Wall Before Room in 3D.

Try selecting one wall.

Or you can use the tab ket to swap between the selected room and the wall.
