cv2702
I need to show a guest house separate from the main house in the same plan for 3D views and other reasons. If I add a second story to one, the other one gets it too. How do I control separate buildings individually in terms of floors?
javatom
Just delete the walls of the other building.

cv2702
Thanks @Kbird1 & @Javatom. I tried Javatom's approach and found that I only had to delete one wall in 3D: the whole floor then disappeared. So all is good.

M. You're absolutely right. Strange that all 2nd floor walls would disappear in 3D after deleting one: how does CA manage to construct the 3D as such, ignoring those 3 odd 2nd floor walls? glennw
My guess is that you did not select the wall in the 3D view. I think you selected the room instead, and then deleted the room. Go to Preferences>Architectural and check Select Wall Before Room in 3D. Try selecting one wall. Or you can use the tab ket to swap between the selected room and the wall. DTCBuild
I find it best to have two separate plan files, then in 3d view, convert the building to a symbol and insert the symbol in the other drawing for 3d viewing.
