BlackDiamond
I'm using CAx6. I would like to know if there is a way to break a dimension string into two separate strings? Thanks
glennw
There is really no "break dimension" command. But you can delete a dimension from a dimension string, which will effectively break the dimension, but you will loose the one dimension from the dimension string. To delete the one dimension from a string, draw over it with s dimension line.

ebdesign
draw a new dimension over the part of the existing dimension you don't want. they both will disappear.

KilgoreTrout
You can't really break a dimension line into two completely separate dimension lines. You can add, remove, or move extension lines to change what the dimension line is measuring though. You can also copy a dimension line and modify each one to give you two dimension lines. Solution BlackDiamond Posted September 19, 2014 Author Solution Share Posted September 19, 2014 Thanks ebdesign!! Actually I just broke a dimension string!!!! By drawing another dimension line over one of the middle sections it deleted only that section which then left the two remaining sides as completely independant strings.
