parkwest
Does CA have an export to allow us to export to another program to do beam analysis? From their website at Forte: OPEN FILE EXCHANGE Send members to Forte for analysis from your software We provide the Forte File Format Utility to software developers looking to enhance their software so it exports floor, wall, and roof members to the Forte application for analysis. This allows your customers to skip remodeling spans, supports, and loads in Forte and instead send these calculations to Forte with all the necessary information pre-populated. Learn more about this interactive guide for software developers wanting to transfer information into Forte files from their own software applications. DavidJames
Unfortunately Chief doesn't have this option. I have a seat with Weyerhaeuser's Javelin software. I just end up re-drawing it in the software for complete member analysis.

I am already redrawing to get my complete take-off estimate... it would sure be nice if the softwares would shake hands with each other... A guy can dream, can't he? Michael_Gia
I don't know about you guys but I send my plans to my truss supplier and he produces the floor and roof truss plans for me to accept and then I submit that to the city along with my plans for permit approval. It's a free service and removes the responsibility from me and onto that of my supplier.
ACADuser
Here in Florida the truss MFG will not release the engineering until they are under contract. That doesn't happen until after permitting in almost all cases.
