RobWhite 0 Posted January 9, 2017 How you I get a cad block into the cad block management area. I am attempting to change my 2D Block on a 3D symbol I use chief X8 Rob
Chopsaw 660 Posted January 9, 2017 It just has to be a cad block so cad block it by marque selecting or ctrl selecting and give it a name and it is included automatically into Cad Block Management.
RobWhite 0 Posted January 9, 2017 Yes that's how I understood it, but I have done that and it is still not listed in the Cad Block Management.

If you made a cad block and named it, then just open the symbol and go to the cad block tab and reassign the symbol the new cad block you created.
tommy1 112 Posted January 9, 2017 BTW, be sure you're looking in the "cad block management", not the "cad detail management".
Alaskan_Son 2538 Posted January 9, 2017 I've had problems getting certain CAD Blocks assigned to symbols myself sometimes and since you brought it up you made me want to figure it out so I played around with it for a few minutes this morning and realized that if your newly created CAD Block has a nested CAD Block (a CAD Block inside a CAD Block) it will not be available to choose from in the symbol's 2D Block tab. To use that block you'll have to explode it, explode the nested block(s) and then reblock. Hope that helps someone. I know I'll be able to sleep easier now.
