  1. Yes, 100% Chief, that was done in X6. I'm on a Mac. It's a QuickTime Movie file (*.mov), 30 frames per second, compression 75%, Techniques-Standard EDIT: I added more detail in the post below
  2. Is it a Mac trackpad or other manufacturer?
  3. Here's one I made. You'll see before it goes upstairs, that it looks up into the foyer with the camera set at 45º. When it walks up the stairs, I set the camera angle to 20º. You can also control the speed of the walk with Keyframes. Add a keyframes and slow down or speed up the walk. Be sure to add keyframes before and after to take it back to normal. In the family room it slows down a little to view a photograph I took of Pittsburgh. HERE it is. Be sure to view it full screen.
  4. I have a Mac Pro with dual 23" monitors. I use a 40" Sony TV for customers, they sit on a couch about 10ft away. I run an HDMI cable to the TV and the computer automatically shuts down one monitor, and switches both the TV and my monitor to a 16:9 resolution, 1920 x 1080. It looks great.
  5. I started a thread about the walkthrough path not extending about two weeks ago. Since then I gotten it to work. No matter what I did on the first one, it would not extend. I don't know what I was doing wrong. To look up in the Foyer, add a Keyframe and adjust the camera to 45º. Be sure to add Keyframes before and after that have the camera at the normal 0º
  6. I just started a large project this morning and have six hours in it and have about six more hours to go. Should I open it in X7?
  7. I don't see it at all. My SSA is up to date until 1/6/2016 Service Period: 1/7/2015 – 1/6/2016 NOW I SEE IT.
  8. Here's the walkthrough, it stops in the master bedroom. It's 3 minutes long http://vimeo.com/116485247
  9. That worked to add curves thank you. Usually when I draw the path, I drag so far and stop, then drag again from the last camera and it adds camera 1&2 but then joins the first path and it becomes one. On the second floor, when I drag from the last camera, it stays camera 1&2 and does not join. It starts a new path.
  10. Give me a few minutes and I'll try posing the plan.
  11. I tried that and was able to make the line longer and move it into the mast. bedroom but it stays in a straight line. I'd like to curve it into the master bath.
  12. I created a walkthrough path on the first floor and it extends up the stairs to the second floor. On the second floor, I can see the camera, but can't extend the path. All I get is a new camera 1 & 2. On the first floor it was fairly easy to connect and extend the walkthrough path. I created the path using; 3D > Create Walkthrough Path. Any suggestions?
  13. Electrical power and lighting/switches on two different layers. All large commercial projects have drawings for each.
  14. Remember when Blueprints were Blue? When had one of the original Blueprint machines in college.
  15. From the Reference manual: "Faster Ray Tracing Reduce the number of surfaces in the 3D model by turning off all layers not used in the scene to be ray traced. For example, you may be able to turn off terrain layers for interior views, or cabinet layers for exterior views. See “Layers” on page 143. An even more effective way to reduce the size and complexity of a 3D model is to use Save As to create a copy of the plan, then delete all areas of the model that do not affect the scene to be ray traced. Depending on the scene, you maybe able to delete entire rooms - or even entire floors. Depending on the scene, a ray trace can quite literally take days to produce. There are several things you can do to reduce the time required: • Image size is a significant factor in the speed of a ray trace. As you adjust the lighting and other variables in a scene, you can save time by creating smaller ray traces for preview purposes. To do this, specify a relatively small image size in the Ray Trace Options dialog. When you are ready to create a final ray trace, spec- ify a larger image size. See “General Panel” on page 943. "
  16. Make sure "Enable Depth of Field" is not checked.
  17. Create an Architectural Block, then add it to your User Library for future use.
  18. Page 790 of the reference manual shows how to create Architectural Blocks.
  19. Search the library for spot lights
  20. I can now make and answer phone calls from my computer via the iPhone. There is a short delay in voice but not annoying. You must be on the same WiFi for it to work.
  21. I didn't watch it. The only thing I noticed is that my speakers didn't work. I had to go into System Preferences > and change from Digital out to Line out.
  22. I dated my Mac Pro and MacBook Air to the free OS upgrade Yosemite 10.10, I also updated my iPhone 5. The good news is, everything works very well. So far, there is no bad news. I use the Apple software - Numbers and Pages on the Macs and my iPhone. The update to iDrive went smoothly. iDrive is a free upgrade to iCloud. BootCamp and Windows7 also works well. Of course Chief Architect also works. I didn't find and update for Apple TV nor Apple Time Capsule. If you're going to update to Yosemite, allow time, probably an 30 min. to an hour and of course back up first. After Yosemite installs, check for more updates
