  1. There are settings in the Pony Wall dialog box that control how the pony wall sections align one to the other. Carefully look that dialog and its settings over to find the correct one for your purposes. DJP
  2. Call Chief Architect Sales and ask them, it is them who are the authorities and not end users (US) who know and enforce the "law". DJP
  3. Susan, the FIRST place I would go for help is Tech Support which you paid for with your SSA. They have been offering Network support for years and know what problems arise and how to fix them. They actually sell network licenses and versions and I am sure some useful advice will come from a call to them. DJP
  4. Here is me fiddling around with your plan based upon what I know, hope it helps you: https://youtu.be/YJdAqUTWpDo DJP
  5. Do you want the existing file repaired? I cannot tell what is "right or wrong" with this file, I can see the roof planes that need editing but without knowing in some detail what you actually intend,it would be guessing and I prefer not to guess. DJP
  6. The program is a mechanical device and you cannot expect it to take two orders and comply them both but what you can do, for plan view is to add a 2D CAD wall on the second floor, perhaps using a dashed line style so you have something there for plan view. The reason it does not show on the second floor is because you ordered it to be on the first floor, so there is where it shows and rightfully so. DJP
  7. Every visible object that can be selected has a dialog box and in that dialog box one can then alter or edit that object, try that please. DJP
  8. I am not the original author of "RTFM" but merely an acolyte. I have learned much from people but I have also learned much by myself reading the manual, help files, videos and User Guide. It comes down to intelligence and responsibility. No one is an island unto himself (except perhaps for Glenn W. The rest of us mortals should probably study some is all I am saying. I am pretty sure Glenn Woodward has been guilty of study sometime, somewhere. DJP
  9. I recently reread the "Users Guide" and it occurred to me that, as a long time user and teacher I should point out that many questions asked here on this forum by new users and not so new users are fully answered in the "Users Guide" ( Help - View Users Guide) and secondarily any other answers are fully contained in the Reference Manual ( Help - View Reference Manual) and Video tutorials (Help - View Video Tutorials). Why Human Beings no longer study is a mystery to me, I guess we are in a hurry and modern people have not been trained to study first and then, having become learned. then do. I am merely suggesting it to you as a new thought and a better, more economical use of your and others time. DJP
  10. I looked at your file and I don't understand what you are talking about: the decks aka docks are "stacked" and I see nothing "wrong" with the railings. What exactly is "wrong" in some detail please? DJP
  11. You can adjust fascia in each Roof Dialog box-Framing Tab or via Default Settings - Framing - Roof Framing. The usual procedure for trusses, is to build them and then rebuild Roof Framing at which time, the tool will frame to the trusses without disturbing them. DJP
  12. The main one I know of is Vince Kunisek ,Long time user. DJP
  13. Once I see the plans you have (scans or PDF files please), I can then give you a quote. DJP
  14. Checked at 9:10 PM Central and it is there DJP
  15. Alan, that kind of operation works just fine on my PC in elevation, so perhaps it is your PC or your Preferences which is the problem. DJP
  16. If you are not already a State Licensed Structural Engineer then why are you wasting time designing trusses? Like many things in software you asked the truss tool to do something beyond its capabilities and in my opinion, beyond your legal rights unless of course if you are an Engineer. Leave Engineering to those licensed and trained to it is my advice or at least work with the software to a useful result and stay within its capabilities, DJP
  17. I have never used any other software than Chief Architect (since 1995), whatever you purchase, spend the time to really learn its tools and procedure (do not guess but study-practice). Any software, well learned and used in competent hands can produce useful results but it is the mastery of the end user that is the most important element, not the software. Competence is earned not purchased. DJP
  18. You are going to be a little more specific than you have to receive any useful help or advice. DJP
  19. Screen size and video hardware support is more important than having or not having a key pad (The only time I use my keypad is when I use the Microsoft Calculator). I recently bought a new laptop by ASUS their G751 JL. It was relatively inexpensive and runs Chief like a dream. DJP
