  1. Wow still not in mine.......... guess, 20 days of SSA and collect money to pay it, keeps me out of the loop. That or the alphabet??? Did they announce it yet????????
  2. Open them and place them on their own layer. Turn that layer on/off in each view to do what you want. Or just turn layer on/off in views if they are all that is on that layer.
  3. Is anyone interested in starting a local user group in Oklahoma City metro area?
  4. Ok you all are going to have a good laugh. Here in the heart land a good napkin sketch, will get you a permit. Builders have it down to site plan, floor plan, good to go. I had a return client that used Chief Trial to design his own plan and just pay me to finish it. Banks are doing loans from sales drawings from plan books. The local user base for Chief Architect here is Builders, they fix all issues in field.................. I tell every client. I generally save you more money than I charge. Some get it and some do not. I all ways ask what you call a plan when they ask my fee over the phone. Locals will do plans for $.50 per foot....... yes Site plan and Floor plan.........
  5. I am going to try to explain this..... To have more then one switch to turn light (or fan) on and off, takes two 3 way switches. Each contact leg "A" or "B" they both on same leg light on. Every switch added for more than two switches are 4 way switch between the two 3 way switches. Most designers around here call all switches in more than two switches 4 way switches....... I have no clue what a two way switch is unless it is a double pole.
  6. The other way to get two switches to fan and light are to open switches : under general options uncheck "automatic change switch type when wiring" before connecting switches to fan. this also works for getting 2 3ways and any number of four way switches.... connect to get the two three ways then uncheck and add as many four ways as you want. I have all ways be stickler on multiple switch wiring........
  7. Michael Now we see how you are getting all the free time to work on macro's.........
  8. Chopsaw, I have run chief on a "D" drive for year, the stuff in user directory was still on "C". You can clean install windows on that type of system and never loose your cad and daily working programs. (yes you still have to reload the programs for windows, how ever most of the time your programs never lose current settings.) That said most of Chiefs stuff is in the user folder and gets wiped out anyhow, is why chief is now on the c: drive on my current system. (raid ssd will be my next upgrade maybe. Not to sure I am ready for the M.2 heat gain yet.) My current system I have the 1tb as my "C" drive and chief is on it, as well as rapid drive for it. (My "D" drive is partition on the "C" and my old Datacad stuff is still loaded on it, to many settings to change for it after 28 years.) I use a 250ssd for the drawing files as network drive, till I started using dropbox....dropbox folder is on the 250ssd. 3tb drive for "E" data back up and space to store stuff. 4tb network drive for shared storage before dropbox... Back to the old school thinking........ I partition drives because I find it easer to look in one smaller file draw then the hole file cabinet........is my thinking and it helps my dyslexic mind find and locate stuff. (god only knows what all is on the "E" drive....... just saying) I stated all this to understand my current system is all on the c: drive and that is not making this file any faster......... I rarely see slow downs with the X5960, then again I do not do projects this large daily.......
  9. I think besides what Perry said , I would say I am adoptable.......................if that is the family lodge................. I think the plans size is your slow down, My feet heater on box hardly ever warms feet, when not ray tracing......This plan was constant warm feet.......... CPU and all really never out of norm so files size is my bet........... Side note you stated moving from 250ssd to 1Tssd that really was more space, would not gain speed.
  10. And last but not least, the 3D Connexion - works really good at navigating through plan while regular mouse is busy....... It is not just for 3D......... I had to say that. Very glad they added it in X8
  11. LMBO............ we tolerate some aliens.....
  12. I am declaring we stick to the third rock from the sun for these things........... What are the odds Chief dropped everything and started working on stairs this week? Looking forward to seeing what they have done. Thank you Chief!!!!!! someone needs to say it......
  13. I am still not expecting any changes to solve my PEBKAC problems....... But then again that is a local issue..... I do not think I have enough money for Chief to solve that one.......
  14. Personally that sneak peak sounds good to my dyslexic mind...... Visual helps it. As for the other stuff who knows??????? As for the direction of CA, designer of the year Bing picked by pretty pictures and not professional work..... I mean really popularity contest where never my strong point as a professional...... So until CA gets professional, we just get to ride the been counting train........ I worked with softpaln years ago back when a cross ment hip roof....... they are geared to builders, CA is geared to DIY home owners, and Revit is geared to god only knows,,,,,, just bring a bank to autodesck......... That all said CA seems to still be the best choice for me to do plans in 3D, and better at doing CD compared to 1995 4.05 version....... So as I said else where CA and I will live with their choices............ not worth rites in the streets............YET!!!!!!!

  18. Here is the contest. https://www.facebook.com/pg/ChiefArchitect/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1637162819646297 My entry has comment from Marc F. Wilson, CPBD with the directions and steps to do it. Have fun.
  19. Anyone used this yet, or want to take a look at how it works. I uploaded the share email on my Spec Home design entry comments. If you want to try it have fun. Note: appliances furniture and Fixtures are turned off. (got surface count down to 150,142ish) I used a friends IPhone to look at it first hand myself today. Liked it at LD, but HD really is nice............ See me using it with cabinet turned off as well for builders real soon.
  20. Joey, Thank you. The yellow area is page wide. If I open in Corel Paint and save as jpg the yellow is white and page is clear as screen.
  21. Ok here is what is happening.Yellow Tint.pdf
  22. If the white around logo for AIBD and in my business card was white, I would agree. Some where yellow tint is getting picked up over the whole page. And using adobe pdf out of chief. All looks good till printed and yellow shows up in white areas, and tint to all drawings. Checking Ink levels. Thank you.
  23. Ok I am rendering like crazy to get plan in to contest. Every time I print to PDF it all looks yellow and dim when printed. I remember seeing something about this but lost, as were to find it. And for contest reasons I can not post plan. Just saying, I might win.
  24. Beg CA, like the rest of use!!! Or type it in, each room. Joe has a great macro to change inches to feet and inches, in the label method. Will not work on Rich Text Box.......
