Yes, We missed that in yesterday's roll-out. You should be able to get the X9 reference manual from within X9 by clicking help > View Reference manual. The above link will be fixed shortly, Probably by the time you read this post.

Bernie, I installed the driver for your printer to see what options are available. Can you verify in File>Print>drawing sheet setup what the drawing margins are? Make sure they match what the printer settings are. In the driver I installed it was either 5mm or 3/16". In this printer when I populate the margins from the printer at A1 it shows 50mm it should be 5mm.( I don't know if that's a bug in our end or a bug in the driver.) At print i see an option for 300, 600, 1200 DPI - as noted earlier the higher dpi might run the printer out of memory on a large sheet. Test with a simple plan, low dpi. In the Print view there is a little section at the bottom that has a yellow background with informational messages. If you get everything set properly you should see that yellow message area go away. This is right above the print button. You probably already tried all of these but I'm just hoping we can figure out what's happening. I wish I had one of these internally I could test. I find it odd that we can't print to one particular page size. I see in the printer preferences for the driver I installed an option on the layout tab discussing margins. There is a Borderless option with a choice 'automatically by printer', or 'manually in application'. Out of curiosity mostly, can you try the option manually in application? Also make sure your resizing is actual size we don't want the printer messing with that. If you have not tried this, which tech probably did first thing, choose file>print>clear printer info, prior to printing. Especially if the layout came from pre X6. Sometimes bad information was stored in the older versions. If that makes a difference you will need to update your default layout template by doing the same thing and saving it so future layouts don't get the bad info.

The black screen is always a video card issue. Updated drivers solve this with newer OS in most cases. Vista was very flaky and this was a typical problem with Chief X1 and intel onboard graphics.

Bernie, Under File>print>drawing sheet setup are you set to A1, If so can you click customize and then edit in that dialog and verify the size in mm is exactly right? (594.0 x 841.0) Then when you print don't select check plot select to scale. Check plot would downsize the plot area by 1/2 etc. depending on what you choose. Typically you don't want to use that unless you want to print an A1 to an A2 for testing purposes. Also make sure you are printing the Drawing Sheet and that it also shows you are using an A1 size. Don't select current view. Does that print to an A1? Finally, make sure you leave enough margin space on your drawing to accommodate the printer. Don't draw outside the printable area of the printer for that paper size. I don't know what the T2500 allows for margins on an A1 or if it's full bleed. That is also dependent on if you use roll or sheets.

I assume you mean like on this page? https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/3d-viewer/

X9 client viewer is available. We rolled it the same time as the beta release. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/resources/viewerrequest.php Let us know if you have any problems.

Chatroom posts don't get counted because the setting to count them is turned off.
-
To the left of the search input there is a drop down. Choose Advanced Search from that drop down. In the advanced search Content Search tab there are options to search by author, content titles etc.

I made a change to the numbering. Can you confirm this is now working?
-
Ok, I see the problem in the Edge browser. This seems to work fine on my development system. I'll find a solution and update it.

I'm having difficulty attempting to reproduce the issue. Posts should count starting from #1 on the first page then based on the number of posts per page show the number of the displayed posts. The first number of the post is calculated based on the page number and the number of posts per page. For the first post on the page I add an id attribute of the post number. Subsequent posts have an id of -1. I also write out the post number on initial page load for each post. When a javascript reload is made the posts are renumbered from top to bottom based on the first page. For non-javascript enabled browsers it should work because the page is reloaded each time. So my suspicion is that the problem is related to the browser you are using or you are getting to the page in a way different than I have tested. If you can reproduce the problem it would help me if you can describe the circumstances. Also does a page reload fix the issue?

Does creating a new bookmark resolve the issue?
-
Are you using a bookmark to open chieftalk? I just discovered an issue where using an old bookmark (forums.chiefarchitect.com) would open with you signed out. Changing the bookmark to chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com seems to solve the issue. There appear to be a few edge cases where session cookies are deleted causing you to have to login again. I'll take a close look at this but most of the time these changes are made to protect the integrity of the login information. If you have to retype your username and password then it's another issue.

Ok, Let me know if it returns. Prior to the update I would have expected this if you were also logged in on another device.
-
Are you still seeing that after today's upgrade? This behavior should have been fixed.
-
You may or may not have noticed but we just did an upgrade to the forum software. The upgrade should solve the issues that occur when you are logged into more than one device. There are numerous bug fixes. Of note: Auto-saved content in the editor will now expire after 48 hours. (this may fix some issues users have noted) If you load an editor that has previous auto-saved content you will now be prompted to keep or remove it Posts are now numbered and the share post link is more prominent on the left side.

OK, I understand. If the thread is split, or moderated, the post number changes. Inserting the link is probably just as easy as finding the post number and refers to the internal id number of the post. Let's go for a while and see how it works by inserting the post. If we still feel we need the ids later I can re-address the issue. Thanks,
-
I took a look at the post # within a thread issue. The issue is complicated by the fact that certain posts may become hidden by moderation. The count in these cases becomes somewhat indeterminate depending on how you want to present the data. This is the reason the count was removed by the software vendor. That said we could count the posts on each page and assign a number if it's a very important feature. The real question I have is what is the purpose of using the post number? If I understand the reason I might be able to solve the problem better. For Sharing: You can share a post by clicking on the share icon - upper right corner of the post - and pasting the link: Which, as you can see, above inserts the text of the post with a link so a user can not only read the post here but can also jump over to that thread. --- I'll look at the number of downloads on attachments next.

I believe the issue where you could not login on phones and small devices is now resolved. We still have the issue of being logged in on two devices. Please test by closing out of ChiefTalk on your browser and attempting to login with your phones. Thanks,

I see an issue where we are displaying the wrong login button on small format devices. I'm investigating the login issues with phones and tablets.

There are a bunch of notification settings. Including the ability to choose notification methods on a per topic basis. If you choose Manage Followed content you can see how you can change the preference for each item you follow. Under Account Settings there are another set of options where you can choose to get emails or notification pop ups on screen or both. Try going through those settings and see if something is misconfigured. I'm still trying to learn how this all works myself so good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Can you log in to https://login.chiefarchitect.com on the chrome browser on the Android Tablet?

I hope everyone had a good holiday. I noticed the link problem with inserted images. If you insert an image and start typing you get text that is part of the href link to the acutal image. It's really annoying. I have been testing the latest beta update today and noticed something about images that is useful. You can double click the image and set the alignment to be left, right or none. By default it inserts as none. But if you choose left alignment it wraps your text around the image. That might help. And no it's not fixed in the next update either. The problem with multiple logins is resolved and there are a couple of new features we are evaluating prior to deployment which I think you will like.

Well good news, we are not loosing text while composing a post any more. I'll take a look and see if there is something that can be improved based on your experience.

Just use a browser - no app.
