  1. Hi Guys, We are good to go. Our workshop is tomorrow/Friday 3:00 pst, 5:00 CST, 6:00 EST.... and (Saturday 9:00 am Aussie time). I will send out the invites 15 minutes early so you can get set up. We will start promptly on time. If you have my email invite, you can join at anytime and leave anytime. We will try to keep it under 2 hours. I would like to start off sharing my experiences with the new plan view sets and ref sets. It seems like whenever I stick my nose out there, someone comes up with some great suggestions. After that I hope to share the screen with anybody who wants to share what they know of if they have any issues. We have some heavy hitters joining us so there should be plenty of good info. If you would like to attend...... please please please send me an email to. dscotthall AT mac DOT com (this makes it so much easier for me vs you responding in this thread. ) See you then....
  2. What happens is when it is checked.... the room above will control the terrain elevation.
  3. FYI, a birdie told me what I was doing wrong. I had FLATTEN PAD checked. Uncheck and my TERRAIN ELEVATION behaves.
  4. Thanks guys for your interest.... I am keeping track of all the email.
  5. it does not work on my mystery plan... the only change was extending the driveway into the garage..... it is the garage that is effecting the terrain.... not sure if I have ever seen this into the garage...
  6. I used an elevation region and it works fine...... there must be something in my other plan that is not working correctly.
  7. I like that solution, that is what I was trying to do with a TERRAIN REGION and it was a mess... not sure what I am doing wrong.
  8. Well..... ain't you the clever one...... I think I get it..... you want to use the TRAY CEILING TOOL........ with this tool you can either make a tray ceiling that goes up in the ceiling or is lower than the ceiling. What you want is this tool to create a dropped ceiling..... and if you make the "tray" part small enough, you have essentially dropped the entire ceiling down...... but you still need to define the room. which means you might as well use the thickened ceiling finish. Nice thinking but I am not sure this is the best solution.
  9. I have always used a ELEVATION REGION before, but for some reason some funny stuff is going on unless I am missing something....

  11. Yes, I was working on this one and I did not think it mattered.
  12. Well, he could drop the garage floor down lower than the concrete stem wall........ and if there is no stem wall he should raise the terrain like you suggested.... has anybody else noticed that the terrain in this vastest version does not work as well.... I have been getting some very unpredictable results..... I have go to put together a workshop..... how bout Friday at 3:00 pm pst?
  13. I disagree with this advice, any section thru garage would be incorrect...
  14. Yep, model it like it is built.
  15. ditto Joe... and multiple ref plans...... very powerful...... if it doesn’t work for a user then they don’t get it. we should do a work shop soon to share ideas on 12
  16. Steve, too many to count, but none as good as yours...... yours are to the point...
  17. I never use it. I only ensure that the first wall I draw is located at an absolute point that is not a fraction.
