Use the transform replicate dialog that appears when you select something and then enter the x or y distance you want to move it.

You can also simply drag the selection in the direction you want to go and hit the tab key to enter the exact distance required.

It's the roof baseline. Just turn off that layer.

You might also want to read up on it before you just go ahead and turn it off and make sure it is correctly positioned first.;)

  3. Not so sure I have experienced that before but there is an unresolved issue of leader lines becoming disconnected on a rather random basis, so they could definitely be related.

P.S.  You can add your current version to your signature so it is always visible.

  4. Ceiling planes come with framing options which I assume there is likely some framing in there to help support the landing.   By " build it out " are you referring to the triangle on the left side facing the camera ?   A custom 2 x 3 or 2 x 4 no room definition wall may work there or if not you can always fill it in with a polyline solid.

  5. Hi George,  I think the issue now is that you can not specify two specific rooms in the same schedule.  I think you need to "Include Objects from Room: " as  " All "   ( Note that it is Room and not Rooms ).   Then hopefully rely on your " Ensuite 3 " Custom Category to isolate the things you need in that schedule.  Hope that is it. :)

I don't get it. The message gives me the option to delete the object in question but I have no idea what I'm deleting.

I agree deleting an unknown entity is a fairly desperate option.  What happens when you select " Move" ?   I agree "Find in Plan" would be a much better option here.

    2 all now.

first time building a roof since downloading onto the new PC. I thought a fresh download of CA wouldn't be defaulted to degrees. Built the roof and changed a roof plane in the dbx manually. should be good now.....

That particular roof setting would be part of your plan template. The other reference I gave you is your Preferences in the .ini file.

Hey guys, how do we change this to where it is not set on angles? I am still tweaking my settings on the new PC.

Are you changing all your settings or just trying to get the old ones back ?

The old ones should be here:  C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Chief Architect Inc

  9. Yes Right after Program Files (x86) if you.....

Turn on "Hidden items" in File Explorer if that does not show up.

They don't want to make it too easy for you. ;)

I am assuming that exporting as image means that when you change something in the plan, that it doesn't update on the layout is that right?

    Yes

If I was to just use the layout, how do you adjust the size of the end result of the plan on the layout page?

Send to layout and use the scale option or if necessary adjust in layout using the "Rescale layout View" tool: 1082518224_RescaleLayoutViewtool.JPG.21f540fd4f0fcca840aea37d3abf50e9.JPG

36x48 is a good option until the wind starts blowing it around on the site lol.

Very true.  I squeeze my projects on to 11 x 17" as often as I can for that very reason and the ability to flip pages in the cab of the work truck also.  On a big expensive project you could almost throw in a free ipad to view digital PDF's rather than having to keep reprinting full sets of working drawings that get destroyed in the initial stages of construction.  Anything to keep the drawings accessible and in use, rather than just going with what they know or don't know and making mistakes that can't be undone.

  12. It just does not work out well with a regular ruler or measuring tape.  I have used it the odd time for an irrelevant overview but not for working drawings if there is any way to avoid it.  You my want to consider Arch E 36 x 48" for some of your larger projects.

But it's showing in the other windows as well now ...............

Ok it looks like you dove right into Plan Defaults which will effect every new "Full" camera you open in the plan file.

If you want to change the backdrop for an existing saved camera just use the Edit Active View tool image.png.90b0e84438a59228ecdc7f4e1345c717.png when you have the view open.

Or you can also select the camera in plan view and use the Open Object tool 1778591120_OpenObjecttool.JPG.16092b0446700908f8cccd9ff4b2e0d4.JPG to get to the same place.

That will get you to the "Specifications" for each specific camera.

Notice in the clip of the DBX I posted above it says "Specifications" and not "Defaults".

P.S.  You can place and X in front of the 13 in you signature for clarity since there was another whole series of versions before the X was introduced.
