One trick I used before diving deep into ruby macro's was to make a copy of the applicable line and change the line style to blank and move it to where ever it needed to be to provide a usable label for the original line.  Not ideal but it works.

Yes that is true so that means you have nothing entered for the label in the rafter DBX.

Either your "Framing,Labels" layer is not turned on or you have not entered a rafter label.  Typically rafters are not individually labeled so that is not likely turned on by default but you can do it for special circumstances or personal preference.

Is it the roof plan view box that corresponds to the part of the PDF that is not visible ?  Perhaps it is the roof plan view that needs to be reshaped ?

If not you may need to post the file or at least a screen shot of the issue.

You can get close by turning off toolbars and Status Bar and side windows etc.  However I don't think you can get true full screen without a flanking portrait monitor that you can drag out onto to get rid of the header which I used to do for walkthroughs before they added the definable recording resolutions. Or stacked monitors would likely work.  Not sure why the screen capture settings would not work the same way.

I think it would be a huge productivity feature for the program.

You have your Angle Snap Grid tool toggled on most likely by accident.  It looks like this: 

End Task if it takes more than half and hour I suppose.  A little sooner if you remembered to save before printing which is a great habit to have.

There are a lot of error codes that are not documented but have never seen a blank one before.  Then again even if you do have a number and call tech support results can vary. 

A common lockup is when you enter the scale incorrectly and the software thinks you are printing a 60m wide page and tries it's best to do so. 

Without trying it, I believe scale is a factor as well if you are and architectural scale in plan view and some more suitable engineering scale in layout. then there will be a visual difference.

The only other thing is your export to layout settings may be changing the line weights if line weights are turned on in layout and plan view.  Send to PDF to be sure.

You need to have line weights turned on in your plan view when you are setting those up or you are wasting your time as you can't print without line weights. Sorry I have done that myself unfortunately.

You extend the path by moving the lead camera.  Then add extra cameras in between as required if you need them for adjustments.  Sometimes the stairs need to be reset with Ctrl + x then Ctrl + Alt + v or perhaps they don't quite make the connection to the upper floor.  I usually use the "best fit" first then make adjustment if necessary.

If that does not make sense then definitely post the file for a quick fix.by the "Solver". 

Does your design have another floor on top of it or a proper roof ?  Usually a result of sunlight shining through the "cracks" in the model.

Except that if it is showing up on Joe's screen then it is already enabled.  But I do think anyone with 10 or more years of professional experience with the software should be able to set the preferences they prefer in the program so I guess I have a few things to submit once I get caught up.

Just draw what you want your tool to look like with all the available tools that you know so well and save it as a 128 x 128 .png image file.

Sometimes just an image of the actual library object will work fine.

It looks to me like most of chief's default buttons were designed within chief so I just carried on doing my custom ones that way.  It beats learning a whole new program anyway.

Sorry to hear you had such a disappointing experience with tech support.  I would think they should be quite interested in leading edge building technology.  

Perhaps knowing how it works with AutoCad and Revit would be helpful so we know if it requires a 3D model or a 2D .dwg drawing of some type ?  It may not export directly from chief but perhaps something could be converted with third party software ?

There is a new X14 export feature for wall framing to EZF EasyFrame that perhaps could be utilized.

Seems to work fine for me but could possibly be a messed up windows setting, just not sure where to find it.

Ok that helps because it looks more like what a PBR view would render like on my monitor..   Maybe check a few different sunlight settings to make sure it is not over or under lit.

Not the first thing I would adjust but you could bump it up to 90% as a test.

What is your resolution setting ?   I usually go to 1920 x 1080 as a minimum.  Higher does not hurt depending on how the client is viewing it.

Perhaps post all of your settings as it could be a resolution/lighting issue as well.
