The only thing that comes to mind is if the p-solid line style is either blank or a color that matches your background.

This would make sense if you are using a different layer for the p-solids.

Thanks.... I've checked the lines etc and it's black...

You can also set the line style and color independently of the layer.  I can duplicate your results that way.

  2. Check what it says in "Check Knowledge Base"

I suspect it has something to do with File Locking but not sure.   Preferences > General > File Management.

    File Locking:

Choose whether or not to lock .plan and .layout files when they are open. File Locking prevents another program or copy of Chief Architect software from opening and modifying the same file at the same time and is recommended in nearly all circumstances.

Select Use File Locking to lock files.

Select Disable File Locking to disable this feature.

  3. Just to get you started other conditions to verify would be ICF and boathouse structures.  It might actually be better as some sort of default of manual setting as treated plates are used in quite a few irregular situations as well as renovations when it is such a pain to replace a rotten bottom plate that most contractors would rather not ever repeat the procedure.

    Thanks for asking.

  4. It is not quite that simple but can be done with macro's.  Perhaps post exactly what you would like the label to look like for a specific cabinet and someone can help out.  Also it will depend on what version of the software you are using so please let us know that.  For future postings you can place that information in your forum signature so it is always visible.

Ok so this was done in X14 and perhaps is what you are after ?

Curious, can a person without a Chief license have an account?

Yes that is the problem but it seems Chief is wanting to maintain it that way as a sales tool.

Like I mentioned before, the spam isn't hurting anything, just a big nuisance.

It certainly takes storage space or monitoring.  Either way it is the money from my license and yours that pays for it all.  If a spammer gets 50 posts for every one of yours eventually someone looses out.  And it is annoying.

Can a Chief moderator block or delete the account?

Yes absolutely, and they do but would you rather them be spending all their time monitoring the forum or improving our software ?  I think it is time for some new rules.

  7. I am pretty sure that if there was a probationary period for unlicensed members of one new topic per 24 hour period that it would take care of 95% of the spam issues.  Or just give a special limited "Guest" status for the first week for unlicensed users before they become a "Member".  Plenty of other forums don't let you post at all without a waiting period.

  8. Rob,  I was going to give you a flat out No.  However if you could work out all the cable geometry with moldings then the sections of material between the cables is essentially almost flat.  You could then fill in each section with a face snapping to the intersection points of the moldings.

If there is any doubt there is a guy about half way between here and there that I am sure would help out if it is possible.   @yusuf-333

On the other hand a small residential type of shade sale that is not flat and only suspended by it's perimeter would be much more difficult.

Is there a way to get both of the thresholds to appear the same and be aluminum finish separate from door colors and the in between jamb to be white?

If it is something that is really important to render correctly you could convert to a symbol and work with the individual surfaces to apply your own materials.  Just a lot of tedious work but completely possible.

Ok so a break at the top. Cool. Guess the sides will be the only thing faked in.

Yes and they will be a bit easier to mask in for the details.  Still waiting for a solution from chief though after many many requests.

Here it is with p solids. What I don't like is the fact it won't be shown as stud walls in plan view no matter what method is used and those separation lines are bugging me on the elevation view.

    See solution above.
