  1. Another option is to create a Shelf, edit the Layer and then add that to the Library. When you want a shelf you just select it from the Library.
  2. Are you wanting a 3D DWG file or a 3D view of the model? Those are 2 very different things.
  3. Can he import any of the files that Chief can export (DWG maybe)?
  4. It would be nice to have that sort of selection dependent on the "Left-Right" & "Right-Left" direction of how the marquee is created. I recall that from ACAD many years ago and although we can switch modes by changing the setting in Preferences, it would still be nice to have the ability to do it just based on the direction of the marquee.
  5. The easy way is to put the Landing in after setting each section to the style you want. The Landing will then take on the characteristics of the lower section. I would still use a slab or psolid to extend the landing as appropriate.
  6. Phyllis, I would make a dummy 2nd Floor (1/16" tall) and set it as an "Open Below" Room. This will prevent the "Attic Walls". You can then add a ceiling over the Pantry Room, etc. as needed on the 1st Floor.
  7. No, that's not possible.
  8. Hambone beat me to it. i agree with Michael, it's a strange place for that option.
  9. Try the Match Properties Tool. We often overlook it but it's really a very good tool.
  10. Check the Library. There are some in the Core/CAD Blocks/Designer Blocks/Graphic Scales Folder. They are in Imperial Units but can be resized to Metric if needed.
  11. Wendy, According to Scott: "Joe's older than Methuselah (969 according to the Bible)"
  12. Amazing that Wendy and Scott didn't know about it.
  13. Yep, I've been using it for as long as I can remember. It's great for a lot of things such as CAD Masks, etc.
  14. This would be a good suggestion.
  15. But it's not mandatory that you use the "Default Plan". You can import the defaults from any existing plan to the current plan.
  16. Johnny, If you copy your Default Plan to the new computer, it will have the Defaults. "Import Defaults" simply imports the Defaults from an existing Plan to the current Plan. btw, if you hover the cursor over a menu item and press F1 it will bring up the help for that menu item.
  17. Did you purchase SSA? If so, you just click on the Library > Get Additional Content Online
  18. Looks to me like a first floor Roof Soffit or Shadow Board or Gutter, etc. IAE. Post the Plan!!!!!!
  19. No, but this has been repeatedly asked for as an enhancement to Chief.
  20. Mike, I've done that Barrel Sauna previously in Chief basically the same way Rich did. It's not going to use Chief Walls, Doors & Windows. Since you know how to use SketchUp, you might want to consider doing it in SU and just importing it into Chief as a Symbol.
  21. Turn on the Wall Labels Layer. Also make sure that you have the Wall Label defined in the dbx
  22. Something like this? But of course the better solution would be with consistent riser heights and varied tread depths.
  23. Just a CAD Box with Fill (solid or xhatch) - and maybe a hole.
  24. Scott's right. You can specify a pattern/fill for cabinets, countertops and some other items, but those only works in Plan View. For those things I generally use a "Mask" in Sections.
  25. Auto Detail should do this, based on the pattern (not texture) specified for the material.
