Does anyone use the 4% of habitable area as the minimum operable window opening area as the means of satisfying the code "IAQ" requirement? Have you been able to get your building official to accept that in lieu of mechanical ventilation?

The specs on the Titan are more than sufficient. I wish I had that system but I don't do much Ray Tracing.

I suspect that there's a Crown Molding on the Cabinet that is interfering with the Window Casing. You can check by displaying the room elevation. That said, it appears that the bumping is still being limited too much (maybe double the crown molding width). If so, this is something that should probably be reported to Customer Support.

It's probably because you have a 4-1/2" casing or sill extension beyond the edge of the window. X10 attempts to prevent overlap/interference between trim and cabinets.

I typically try to work at 1/2" increments but dimension to the nearest 1/8". Sometimes you just have to make adjustments for framing and wall layer thicknesses. Studs are 3-1/2" and 5-1/2" so depending on which side of a wall you are dimensioning to there will be a 1/2" variation and if you are dimensioning to the center line of a wall that gets down to 1/4". Assuming you want that wall to be continuous across the building you just have to make some adjustments. Then if there's a difference in finish materials (1/2" drywall vs 5/8" drywall) the dimensions can be 1/8" variance to get the alignment desired. I don't think there's an easy answer to the question. It just depends on the job conditions. Carpenters are quite capable of layout to 1/8" increments.

MIchael, I think you misunderstood what Marc is wanting. He wants the Callout he places in the Elevation View to automatically reflect the Camera Callout in the Plan View. That isn't possible with the current implementation of Cameras & Callouts. It's something that's been asked for several times but currently can only be done manually - easy to make a mistake.

When Elevations are created and saved they are automatically named in the Project Browser as: Elevation 1 Elevation 2 Elevation 3 etc. If you rename them as E1 E2 E3 You can then put the %view_name% macro in a callout in the Elevation view.

I would set the Foundation to be dimensioned to the same surface as the upper Framed Walls. I would also add "Construction Grid Lines" and cross section details to clarify for the contractor.

I would use an extra floor level (open below) for the 3rd wall thickness. IOW the Foundation is made up of Floor Level 0 & 1: Bottom two wall thicknesses on Floor Level 0 using a Pony Wall. Upper wall thickness on Floor Level 1 (Open Below). 1st Floor Plan on Floor Level 2 2nd Floor Plan on Floor Level 3 etc. Use the "Saved Floor Plans" to designate the names. The Foundation would be displayed with Floor Level 0 as the main foundation and Floor Level 1 as the reference plan.

I agree with Perry. The most memory I've seen on a dedicated Video Card used with Chief is 4gb but there are some with up to 8gb (NVidea GTX1080). 32gb would be a drastic overkill for Chief. You should also check to see that the Video Card is actually in control. If there's an on-board Intel Video chip it may be being used instead of the dedicated card. You can check that in the settings for the dedicated card. (Nvidea settings - PhysX in my case)

My problem with that solution is that in the USA it labels a 60"w x 40"t window 5034. That would be OK if the inches (0 & 4) were in superscript - but they aren't. This brings up the possibility that a 50" x 34" in window might be ordered instead of a 5'0" x 3'4" window..

Diane, It won't work if you are using the Window Callout for the Label. That's specified in the Schedule and it over-rides any text Label.

Default Labels only apply to new Doors and Windows. To change the existing Labels, you can use "Match Properties"

Personally, I wouldn't use a "Pony Wall" for this condition. If you want that Thickened Band at the top of the Room either use "Soffits" or a custom "Crown Molding".

Create a point at the center of the round object Select Object to be copied Select Transform Replicate Set number of copies and angle (increment angle per copy) Select Rotate (about Current Point) OK You might need to play with the numbers to get the right incremental settings.

X10 allows the Layout Box to be "shaped" the same as any other PLine. That's why the resize doesn't work the same as it did before - unless you change the setting in Preference for that functionality. I think there's also a Toolbar Button that can be used.

Why not just set the baluster spacing in the railing dbx? Otherwise, you could use a "Distribution Path". That tool has some more sophisticated spacing techniques.

Try making it out of Primitive Solid Boxes and then cutting away what you don't want with other solids rotated and positioned as needed using the "Solid Subtraction Tool.

Yep, I have all Architectural sheet sizes in a single Layout Template. Change the Layer Set and the Page size and it's done. In fact, I created a Arch-D2 (24"x42") for a job I'm working on. Print companies use roll paper, so custom sheet sizes are possible.

I would use Copy/Paste from the new Template to the old Template. Open the new Template Select Page 0 Unlock and display all Layers Marquee Select the entire Page Close the new Template Open the old Template Select Page 0 Unlock and display all Layers Paste Save the Template That should do it.
