  1. In your wall layers you can assign different fill for existing or new foundations or any type of wall.
  2. Dennis you're a kind man and very talented.
  3. I FORCED myself to do the transform/replicate for the poly solid stairway. Not sure I saved any time, manual placement of solids very doable.
  4. Code book will tell you min and max of the winder, tread depth and other details. Might be code compliant and it might not,
  5. Buzzsaw I have ceiling heights fixed but your garage foundation is not how you had it. I'm sure with some tuning you will get desired plan. 2storey_over_garage mine.plan
  6. Plan file Ridius steps.plan Ridius steps.plan
  7. Poly solids and stairway with settings changed
  8. Buzzsaw post your plan. I would like to explore it.
  9. Nice design Chris, reading and typing at same time. Too much for me to handle, forgive me BUT no matter who designed it, NICE.
  10. Very nice Rosco and there's not a project on this site that someone couldn't critique. I don't find myself needing too many high detail CA produced renderings, I would need to get advice too. As Mr. Hall asked, did you do all of your work in CA?

  12. HumbleChief has the correct thought process. Don't fight perfection where it's not needed. We all have our moments of WTF am I going to do!!!!! That's when we ask for help and I often work on tiny issues because I WANT TO KNOW why.
  13. I do same as above post, I was offering solutions to his OP. Most of my details are saved cad details. 100's in my inventory and if anyone needs pole barn or pole structure I have many.
  14. MarkMc, very nice pdf print you posted. Detailed, easy to read and pictures for those who think they read the print. lol
  15. Layers for our roof planes are NEEDED and we need to be able to LOCK roof planes independently of each other.
  16. I agree solids can be used, I did this with the few scraps that were laying around after I auto framed roof. Actually what OP wanted we need to show the valley plate on top of roof sheathing.
  17. Bill E., opened your plan and grabbed roof baseline for your frame over. Took framing view and I got the 1st pic I posted. OP wanted jack rafters with a valley plate and I want to know same as OP and what we're missing for jack rafters to frame. Valley plate can be done by modifying valley bridging. TY for your time.
  18. Thank you Bill Emery, you are a talented and kind man.
  19. It's code here too, we call them valley plates.
  20. That's not correct, I notice last 4 jack rafters lay flat on roof plane. Can't get them to behave.
  21. This is how I feel, Ben has been around for many years with expert advice. When Chieftalk started many years ago there were rock stars on the forum ( like Ben, David J. Potter, Tim O'Donnel, Dean J., Tommy, Dennis G, Louis and so on) just as there are today. Many users get what they need from the program and never look back. I know 3 local guys that still use ver 10 ( as I did until Jan. 2015 ) because it could do everything they need and it still will. I updated due because of new work station and I find the thrill of getting myself "up to speed" on ver 17 FUN. Joe C. is a brilliant mind and I will never be at his level because I'm a builder not computer guru BUT!!!!! I can put on paper ANYTHING that I'm capable of building and that is the beauty of CA. Computer genius ( Joe ) to Gheppto the wood carver ( me ) can use the software with success and HELP FORM THIS FORUM.
