  1. The Rabbit replies, leaving only empty space, an impossible task. aka: haiku for "guess not eh"
  2. Just made and saved in here. Trying to do a stone wall, but seems like this just does straight lines. Would be cool to have a object distribution area tool that works on walls like the material region does etc. Meh, just curious.
  3. Im curious if there is a way to adjust these 3D cladding profiles so they are easier to see in the library. Im pretty sure ive adjusted object's 3d settings in their DBX before to change others, but i cant seem to find anything for these guys. Tips? Tricks? S>O>L?
  4. I'm a little curious how y'all detail / what sorta window sched info is on something like this. Anyone care to share?
  5. I quickly made this using the roofs / curved roof option in the DBX. You'll have to find tune it etc, but i just set the main floor walls to 12' and the roof to 24/12 and turned on the curved roof tool. She's quick n' dirty but with some tinkering im sure you could get it to work for you.
  6. 10 points to Gryffindor for the explanations. Seems to be lots of new dbx tricks with this new feature. thanks.
  7. not all hero's wear capes. some provide libraries. big thanks for this.
  8. Goodness I wish. For something like that where I'm at, the city would want a full tall wall framing plan and section of the front area along with the submitted truss plans etc. I mean, its not the worst thing, but oh well. Still cool to see the "quick n' dirty" solution, sometimes thats all you need.
  9. @Renerabbittdoes that do the correct framing though? Wouldn't the "thick wall" just be really odd framing? A quick roof & ceiling plane will actually build everything out would it not? depending on defaults etc.
  10. The example in the photo looks like it uses some sort of parallel chord truss system over the patio area, just however deep you need it to be, order the truss' that size and finish appropriately. Shouldn't need to be insulated at all either, do make sure its vented though if your using a T&G finish. As long as you have sufficient separation and sheathing @ the wall to isolate the area, make sure you detail that in there to avoid temperature difference issues etc down the road. In the program. @CharlesVolz had it bang on. Create some ceiling planes over that patio and set the height, framing should fill in with Truss / defaults / etc.
  11. it was exactly this! Thank you.
  12. Hey there folks just wondering if anyone else is running into this issue where with beams in X18. When i paste the floorplan into an clean CA template file it works fine... Any ideas what settings to check? It is doing this in pretty much every room type right now, inside or outside.
  13. wait what... gotta try this out today. edit. this seems super handy after playing with it for a bit. neat little QOL improvement.
  14. I would absolutely be interested in something like this for sure. Here in MB its mostly the foundations / connections / efficiency info. I've spent a decent chunk of time on tuning the material lists etc, it would be cool to see how other people are optimizing that for sure. Window and site plan tools would also be great. If you ever need someone to bounce ideas off etc shoot me a message.
  15. beautiful and clean to read, very nice. PM sent
  16. yeah... TOTALLY a reasonable request... I'lL hAvE wHat He'S hAviNg
  17. After the long rant I also totally forgetting to mention prompts... Imagine the possibilities and accuracy if there was something referencing the direct model & material information as a prompt in itself. (check out the enscape chaos engines) A DBX like the PBR one for controlling ai effects, what it touches, what it doesnt etc. Save a rendered background as a default setting etc..
  18. So here's a good question, and something I think having a built in, custom developed AI engine that doesn't affect the architecture would be ideal... but wouldn't it be amazing if it also worked the other way around. If you do an exterior render, client wants to see different siding options... we need to be able to change JUST the building and leave the background etc the same. I've noticed that trying to get the same setting / lighting / background / trees / shrubs etc to stay, even using my adobe firefly subscription is almost impossible. Krea AI's live image editing tool seems to do the best by using the previous image, then cutting out the image of the new siding and putting it ontop but its SO clunky and not 100% accurate. See the attached photo for example. Anyway this confuses soooo many people "why is everything else in the picture different now" etc. If we could do this with the AI image enhancement that would be ideal. Almost exactly like we have the button for "denoise view" we could have a "AI Image Enhance" that has similar controls to all the other camera views but is built on a code level to not change ANYTHING other than output image detail, lighting etc but with it using all of the already available model & material information built in as a custom prompt almost.... that's about as far as my brain takes it, but I'm sure some coding genius could make it happen! Our community here is pretty awesome. We. Need. Repeatable. Results. I also thing people have been asking for years now that chief have render plugins available. If i understand correctly what @Michael_Gia is saying, if we could link to Unreal Engine & Twinmotion / Enscape / D5 / Luminon for both repeatable outdoor settings and accurate architecture representation. But the kicker is that it HAS TO be a plugin / integration / built into the subscription already, no one else makes you pay extra they just include the plugin / functionality direct.
  19. ah, yes, the ol' acme double tag negative switcha-roo. I knew "someone" would have a good solution for tagging and sorting Thanks for this, sometimes I can stare at something so long it just stops making sense.
  20. With winter coming around I've been getting ready to go through and rework / organized my user library and cad details. I'm trying to streamline things, reduce clutter and group as much together as i can with the management system, folders and tags. With this I've been cleaning up the excess, then applying keywords and tags to the items left after the cleanup. I was hoping to make this a little easier by applying a search filter that will only show the "un-tagged" items or items without tags etc. I've looked through the library custom filters for a while now and cant seem to find anything that would work. Am I missing something obvious here in the filters for "has keyword" or "has tag" sorta behavior? Does anyone have any suggestions on a "clean up" workflow / alternative?
  21. Ah-HA! of course it was something that easy. Seems a little counter intuitive etc as you have to switch to joists, change, then switch back. But it worked, much appreciated, thank you.
  22. Hey there folks, having some issues with my floor truss's and the Truss Direction label isnt reporting the right size. This is probably something really simple, what am i missing here?
  23. I think I'm having a similar issue. When doing RSI calcs in excel, i do a print screen and past into a CAD detail. I used to be able to save that pasted image to the library, now i cant. Thoughts?
  24. This is how I ended up solving this problem, works great. Keep in mind all your terrain features will have to be on that level as well.
