I've got it downloaded the update and noticed (placebo effect anyone?) that the printing dbx seemed to come up faster. Just sayin'

The Plan Note (Key) Schedule From A Plant Schedule Video
HumbleChief replied to DRAWZILLA's topic in General Q & A
Looks like $9.95/month to store vids. Does that look right? I wonder if DropBox could be used as well? -
Just tried this and it took a couple tries but worked great. I was able to copy notes from a more recent Layout to another Layout I was working on. Cool. Thanks.

Training videos 5205 and 5219 have a few options to consider and I'd bet a simple solution.

Ah I'm thinking I need to create a library object with the proper label then point to that library object with the place library object tool. Yeah that worked thanks for the tip. -

Yeah got that part Joe but can't seem to figure out how to get a label to insert instead of a plant. http://screencast.com/t/jK4ivgF44Pw8 -

I too like the Snagit format. Nice job Perry. One question. How do you set up the library icon in your tool bar? -

Sounds like you created a p-line solid in plan view? 'Might' work if you can get a 3D shot of it. You can't create a symbol unless you are in a 3D mode. Create the fence panel in plan view and take a 3d overview. Save as a symbol and then rotate about the 'X axis and that should "stand it up." In my experience it's better to create a symbol in the orientation it will end up in - in this example in an elevation view. -
Here's my version of roof planes. I think it should end up as a symbol at this stage and as Joe suggests a couple of properly placed stretch zones and it can be very useful in the future. http://screencast.com/t/BPF4yzkZQcpX

Nice Justin. Was that done in Chief? I tried with round roofs but couldn't figure it out. If you could share how you did it, maybe a picture of a dbx? That would very helpful. Thanks

As a matter of fact if I ever have to create an awning again I'll use this same method. It's way better and more versatile than Chief's existing symbol(s). BUT you don't get a return on the end so you'd have to create a p-line in elevation to close the ends. Hmmm... Is that what you were working to solve Joe?
-
Joe, you might be over thinking this one. Just create a new molding profile to match the shape of the awning (which can be used for similar situations in the future) then draw a simple 2 line molding p-line, extrude to outside. Cake.
-
Outside edge. Return worked perfectly. Just what the doctor ordered. thanks
-
Thanks so much for the quick responses. I ended up using a molding P-line. So easy but sometimes it's hard to see all the options through only one brain.
-
May try that too Scot with a custom molding profile.
-
That should work
-
Thought maybe I could join 2 roofs but couldn't get a half barrel shape figured out.

One option would be to use Google Drive or Drop Box to upload your user libraries. To keep them current on Drive you will need to upload with each change but then they can be downloaded to any computer at any time in any place. Just saw your post Joe. Haven't used Sugar Sync but have Carbonite and haven't used their sync features/functions. I have a couple folders I back up to Drive a couple times a week seems like it would work OK but it takes a pretty clear discipline to keep things organized.

The Correct Way To Get Schedules To Layout

Nice work. I keep forgetting to use the client viewer but will add that to my tool box shortly. -
It would be a shame to retire the older site. There is SO SO much great info there. I went there just the other day to do some research and it was invaluable.

The Correct Way To Get Schedules To Layout

...but remember if you do it will change every page and every number unless you used the page edit feature from the project browser. I would leave it - get the job out the door then learn the nuances of page layout. Your call.
