  1. I do not that see that option in the room spec...
  2. This happened a while back and I cannot remember how I resolved this. It's a simple screened porch addition off the back of a home and the "screened porch" is set to mono slab but the existing home is set to stem wall. As you can see it is clearly there but when I got to level 0 fdn plan nothing is there to dimension. When I build the fdn I check "walls with footings" and not mono because the land slopes back to front. Suggestions? And yes, slabs layer is turned on.
  3. That pic was pulled straight from google images when typing in "outriggers". I do agree with you however.
  4. Honestly, I just started calling them outriggers. I have called them lookouts otherwise
  5. This worked great and they stayed orientated like they should.
  6. Every time I mirror them (other jobs) they float out in space. I guess the main question here is can we manually add them like rafters and joists?
  7. I call them both lol and one time I actually called them outlooks but that is a microsoft email server lol ........I autobuilt the roof and no lookouts. First time it has happened. I know, upload the plan file, but I need to get the file smaller first. It is only on one part of the roof. Surely we can manually add these right?
  8. How do you guys manually add outriggers and keep them orientated to the slope?
  9. I actually ended up leaving the window alone, too much work for a window that will probably never be bought. It is fixed and I think the owner is good with the simple design I went with.
  10. Yeah and it probably isn't even something you can get special ordered in a timely manner. I say just leave it an arched window at the top and move on.
  11. Thanks chop, let me give that a try.
  12. Anyone know how to arch the bottom of windows as as shown below?
  13. Hey guys, there are times after I have designed a home I have went back into the defaults and changed the colors/materials (fascia, moldings, wall material etc) and the model updates accordingly. Then there are times like today the roof material and colors won't update and I find myself manually painting the trim just to keep moving forward. It's not a big deal or time consumer on small homes but this is over 4000 SF. Obviously I am doing something wrong. I will say the whole complex roof was built plane by plane and not auto-built so maybe that it was it it? Just want to be prepared for the next time.
  14. Heck Yeah, I forgot about twin motion, thanks!
  15. Do video cards crap out like anything else? It seems my renderings aren't as crystal clear like they used to be (physically based). I only have a year and a half on the card and was just wondering, I have used it quite a bit for my screenshots to the client. On that same note, if I want to start trying lumion, would the 3080 do ok? Thanks
  16. The wife is a Realtor and uses chat GPT but I haven't really wrapped my head around this whole AI thing. I instantly think about the Terminator movies and that is far as I can get with it.
  17. I wish I wasn't so oblivious to all this AI I am hearing about.
  18. Gross is right.......and thanks, I will defintely look into your suggestion.
  19. Hello my fellow CA's. I got a request today to see if I could not include the sheetrock when I export my floor plans CA files to .dwg. Is this possible? I am always trying to to make the engineer's job a little easier.
  20. That is what I somewhat remembered in that previous thread. All good now and complete.
  21. haha We posted this seconds apart. I cannot select the whole pergola. One of the objects keeps me from being to select the rotate option. Probably the railing walls.
  22. Never mind guys, selecting a little at a time allows for me to use the transform/replicate icon and I can manually input the degree to rotate.
  23. Hey guys, So I was asked to rotate my pergola like 10 deg. Obviously when selecting the whole thing at once I don't get the rotate grip. How can I do this again? I cannot find the thread where this was discussed before. I would say screw it and rotate the terrain like I normally do but then the main home will be wrong. 4 railing walls created the "patio" I renamed to pergola. The rest is general framing members and some stainless cabinets. The round sitting area rotates with it and is just a basic slab no footings (pulldown icon).
